Official 380 Thread

Hi everyone. I have an 03 380 Sundancer that I can smell exhaust in the cockpit area and even the helm at any speed above 15 or so knots. I have looked at hoses and clamps but don't find anything broken or cracked. Any thoughts?

Thanks

Ray

The compass has it's own little cover - sorta like a yamaka. One of the previous owners had this this whole thing made up. Clever.

BTW anyone change Rochester fuel sending units on their 380? Sea Ray P/N 1691486 but having issue finding OEM.
Any unforeseen issues with removal?
Appreciate any sourcing suggestions and /or replacement issues

Over simplified but any possibility you have cockpit door open underway? Simple but many of us have sailed with that open and the fumes pull right in...

Does anyone know the amp locations for the helm seat woofer and the arch speakers for my 07 380? Its all original.
Im guessing behind the breaker panel, its the only place I haven't looked.

Also, does this breaker panel flip out without taking the panel door off? It doesn't look like it has clearance.

The manual for my 06 shows it behind the salon seat backrest - have you checked there?

Anyone replace the rubber j-trim that goes around (the outside) base of the stainless windshield? SR part number is 1424399 but I can't find the right stuff. SR parts manual calls it J-trim with screw coverFounder Pounder sells it but the measurements don't seem correct.

last year on a 2000 380DA. Parts manual called out two different P/N's: one for screw cover along side windows and windshield and one for screw cover under windshield vent. Contacted Taylor Made and they supplied correct P/N's the side window and windshield for the 2000 model year; Side windows and windshield are Taylor Made P/N 834904; the cover under windshield vent is Taylor made P/N 8349030. We used 27 feet for the side and windshield and 4 feet for under the vent. Bought these through FPMarine. We have the drawings of these if needed. they can be private messaged to you if needed.

GREAT INFO! Attached is the stuff they sell at FP. Is it possible you have one of your PNs wrong (maybe you just left off the last zero)?

I have an email out to FP to see what I'd need but haven't heard back. Seems like you have answered my question!

Yep, loops like a 0 written in at the end of each number.

FP got back to me and I referred Ken to this thread.

Thanks very much...this is exactly what I was looking for!

Okay total NewB(First time boat owner) and dropped a deposit on a 380 SD 2001 with 680 hours today. I have a friend, that owns a 340, come out and check it out in advance to the survey to see if anything obvious initially.

What he noticed is the following:

Light Smoke from both engines at about 3K RPM &
Temp Gauge swinging too high too fast
Water dripping on port side Drive Shaft
Squealing heard in cabin @ 3K RPM

I have a survey set in the next couple weeks but just wanted to field the issues from fellow owners in advance in this class to see if they may have had similar issues.

Thank You and look forward to the feedback,
Tom

Light smoke...probably nothing
temp gauge...do you mean it shows the engine running too hot? if so, how hot? confirm with IR temp gun? if temps are normal maybe a bad gauge/bad ground to gauge?
water dripping...dripless shaft log not making a good seal. You have every right to ask that that be repaired or negotiate with seller that YOU will fix, but sale price should reflect this.
squealing...no idea on this. Anyone...
