I'm purchasing a 2005 340 Sundancer and need to remove the Raymarine radar dome off the top of the arch for transportation. How difficult is it to remove and what tools will I need?

If it’s like mine it would just unplug and there are 4 bolts that hold it to a sea view radar mount. Should be pretty easy

Do you need to remove the dome from the top to unplug or does it unplug somewhere from the bottom?

The model I have is a color hd, plugs are on the curved portion of the lower rear part of the radome, plainly visible and accessible. I could unplug, then remove from the bracket. Without seeing a picture or knowing a model it’s tough to say if yours is similar

Thanks. The boat is 3 hours away from me and I don't have any good pics of the radome. Hopefully its as easy as yours.

The plug end probably won't slide out of the dome. Cable hole is too small. At least it didn't on my 24" dome and all my Raymarine domes on my buddies boats. So if you just want to remove it and temporarily strap it to the arch, then that's doable. But if you want to carry it away you will most likely need to remove the wires from the connector.

That sounds like a good option. Hopefully there will be enough cable to swing it around and secure it to the bottom side of the arch.
