we are planning a ICW trip Fort Lauderdale to Fort Pierce and feedback on how many hours for this trip in July.

ICW Ft Lauderdale to Boynton is scenic but miserable - very slow going - the good news is in a 280 you will probably only need to worry about 3 (if any) of the MANY bridges (in and out of lake boca and Geo Bush ave IIRC) This time of the year, I would leave out of PE (Ft Lauderdale inlet) and run outside to LWI (Palm Beach inlet) and bypass that part of the ICW (and save a TON of time).....after Boynton its a lot better, some slow stretches, but far more opportunities to be on plane. If you stay in the ICW the whole way your looking at 10-12 hrs - If your doing it alone, or just to move the boat, 1 day is possible - If doing it with friends or family, break it up into a "mini trip" spend some time in lake boca or at peanut island - or there is a great anchorage a mile or so north of Jupiter inlet - Castaways in Jupiter is a good easy in and out stop for food and fuel as you will be stretching the range of the 280 on one tank....

Search on google for "ICW Bridge Schedules".

You will find a few sites that will allow you to download the bridge information for all or part of the ICW.

In this pdf you will find the Statue Mile marker for the bridges. You can use this to determine accurate distances between the bridges, and ultimately your route.

This is a one glance document you can see if there any bridges you have to open (and their schedule) and decide how many miles a day you want to travel to plan your stops.
