Hello
Heading across Lake MI in two weeks...looks to be a damn straight shot and have good use of my electronics and radar. Any other suggestions or words of wisdom from anyone that has made the voyage? I have a 2004 420 Sundancer

Let us know how it goes, I'm interested in doing a St. Joseph to Milwaukee trip next year.

We came across from Sheboygen last year with our new to us 410. It was really easy, set the auto pilot, watched the radar and enjoyed the ride. I dont think you will be too long without land in site.
Good luck & be safe!

Done it a number of times and usually ran into some rough water due to having to be back in Grand Haven on a certain date. Nice weather on the day you go does not mean nice weather on the day you return. However, you have a big boat and June's weather is mild. The South Shore Yacht Club is a nice place to stay and buy fuel.

Make sure you have an EPIRB if you don't already have one. Better than 1/3 of that trip will be outside of VHF range of either side. Cheap insurance...

We have done that trip several times, cruise at 30mph, 3 hours from pier to break wall in Milwaukee. What dates are you going, would run with you if dates at times work.

If you have never done, you will love Milwaukee. Just a heads up the basin outside of McKinley is "no wake" for boats 38 and up. Definitely do the river....Milwaukee is extremely boater friendly. You definitely will have a great time.

Thank you all! I am leaving on Friday the 22nd and look forward to calm waters. Plan on coming back the next day weather permitting.
