Lake Saint Clair Peeps

+1 for Dennis. He's the best!
Dennis did the canvas on my 24 Baja in 1989 I just replaced it this year only because it shrunk enough I could no longer snap the back snaps other than that it looked great still. He also did the full canvas on our 370 Sea Ray, the thing with Dennis is the inside looks just as nice as the outside and everything fits just perfect. He is pricey but you get really nice stuff.

+1 to Dennis Miller. He has done two camper enclosures for me ('08 and '16) plus other work like a Macralon windshield. The workmanship is second to none.
As far as that No Wake Zones map goes, has anyone ever checked out this "The Blueways of St. Clair" group? It's a canoe and kayak site, so where are they getting this information and is it valid?

What do you call the nice sunny day that follows 2 days of rain? MONDAY
No kidding, We spent the whole weekend on the boat, but not sure it will even start because I didn't even try. We did get a lot of cleaning done though. Cleaned the cabin carpet, cleaned/conditioned the cockpit seats and cleaned the cockpit flooring. Sometimes you need weekends like this last one so it forces you to do the things you need to but don't want to. So far this coming weekend is looking a lot better.

Because of the crappy weather this is the mess I ended up getting into. I am adding an Alba-Combi analog converter.

Looks like this weekend is going to be better than last SO FAR. Anyone have swimming holes picked out yet. I'll probably find my way to Fisher again. Unless the dock neighbors pick something else.

EZ, most likely Fisher Sunday. I heard today that the heat index will be around 100 Sunday. Saturday we have one of those pesky grad parties at 6 but we'll be back to the marina Saturday evening o_O

Have you ever been to the Goose spot that's closer in towards Fisher? My dock neighbor loves it but I've never been there. Thinking there or Baltimore Hwy (That secret spot that everyone knows about) on Saturday

I'll try and talk the boat neighbors into Fisher on Sunday. When we go to Goose we stay out towards the lake instead of back farther. Kinda right by the mouth of the middle channel, opposite side of Club Island. Hopefully this picture will help Blueone. I tried to edit photo but couldn't get it to work. If you cross the Middle Channel around the farthest out bouy and just keep going all the way back you will see all the boats in Fisher. There will be boats in some bays on your starboard side going in but Fisher is all the way in. Once I get in I'll try to remember to keep the VHF on 71. Tomorrow I'll try to find a photo I can edit a track on and post that.

I have been in Goosebay but saw no reason to go back into fishers... What is the attraction back in there?
I like it back there because of a few reasons quiet, shallow, warmer water, not a lot of boat traffic and cool dinghy rides through the marsh. It's easy access from Balfour on the North Channel when I get fuel also (just scary going through the cut if you haven't done it before).

It's similar to the Moot but without the trash, in water and above water.. Water is warm, shallow and sandy. Super easy to get in as well. Just drive right down the middle of Goose and you'll see other boats straight ahead.

Great Lakes I save this letter in my photos so I can edit it and send to those people that don't know me well. :D
I like this however there's no getting out of this one. Close family friend and also a boater. I've sent many cards over the summers due to "having another event"

Baltimore Hwy, I turn right just past the third buoy of the N Channel. That'll take you in the right direction then you'll see the other boats in there. It's been super packed the last few years. Beautiful area

Easy, I know we have the same boat. Have you changed trans oil yet? I'm having a heck of a time with my starboard trans. Wondered how you did it.

I have not yet. It was done in the fall 2015 before I got it. So pretty much brand new oil when I got it Spring 2016. I have only put 120 hours on the boat so far since I got it. I check it often and haven't had to add any yet. I will probably do mine either this fall after haul out or Spring before launch. What kind of problem are you having? Hope it's an easy fix.

I stripped the head of the oil pan bolt and cannot get it out. And our transmissions have a steel mesh cage inside the dip stick hole that only allows for a small diameter tube for sucking out the oil. Others have commented that that's how they extracted the oil out, but you CANNOT get all the oil that way as the bottom of the oil pan sump is not centered over the dip stick. It really needs to be drained. So when you go to change the oil, saturate the oil pan bolt with PB Blaster and use a tight fitting wrench.

I've spent hours and lots of money in tools, to only come away with failure. I called Don from St.Clair Boat Services and he's going to change it.

Now I'm on the trying to figure out why I cannot get my generator to even turn over. I can't believe the battery is dead. But I don't know which one of the 5 we have is for the generator.

Isn’t boating fun! The shit we endure for those lasting memories.

It’s typically mounted perpendicular to the others, but the surest way to identify the generator battery is to look for the battery that doesn’t have jumpers to other batteries.

Hello Peeps I failed at talking everyone into Fisher. We are in Little Moot instead. Oh well can't win them all. Hope everyone is having a great day.
