Hello, on my new to me 550 Sedan Bridge the anchor was changed to a nice stainless steel anchor. I like the anchor and the look. However, it is the wrong size because the point hits the bow and marking up the gel coat. I knew this when I bought the boat and it was pointed out at the time of the survey. I would really like to keep the anchor, so my question is, does anyone know of a stainless steel plate to mount on the bow for protection or a separate option was to move the bow roller forward about 3 inches. The roller is held on with 6 bolts and if I move it forward I can still catch the 6 bolts, is there a reason I am over looking on why not to move it forward? As always I appreciate the input. I attached a picture.

If its easy enough to do, I'd move the roller forward. A plate would be a lot more work, more holes, custom part etc.

I've seen plates used, so I'm sure it's not too hard to find them. But it's still going to be hitting. I'd move the anchor roller. BUT... Is it possible to change the forward roller to a larger inside diameter on your anchor roller? If the "core" was a larger diameter, it would lower the anchor and that might be just enough. Depends on what you have on there right now, I suppose.

I know a couple of people who have moved their existing bow roller forward one set of holes and filled and repaired the 2 exposed holes with good results. I was prepared to do that, or try the Mantus bow roller when I switched to a large Rocna, but I lucked out and it fits well.
I have a dock neighbor that has a stainless bow protector that looks real nice, but his anchor doesn't touch the bow. He has a large Fortress that doesn't behave well when coming home into the roller and the protector is there "just in case". I wouldn't want the anchor touching when parked, the protector may eventually get all banged up.

Once again, Thank you for the input. This forum is a great tool to have!!
