My dock mate's 52 Sedan Bridge ETS system failed as he was docking his boat into his slip- was able to avoid damage to boat but was wondering if anyone has experienced this failure at the helm controls-also where to replace-Cummings MercCruiser Company
 
Has anyone rebuilt the shift lever box-ETS system looking for parts -took apart and can be rebuilt but source for parts? Cummings Merc wants 2200$ for full replacement-one little part broke
 
What kind of part?
A gear, brush, mounting tab?

Can it be fabricated?
Is there a electric motor rebuild shop in your area?

You may have to get creative here.
 
looks like a watch movement-lol-the forward reverse lever STB side was like a noodle - looks like it can be fabricated as its function holds the detent? not sure if that's the right term-my dock mate is at his boat and I'm sharing here-thanks for checking in
 
Chances are it’s the bolt that holds the roller that is hooked to a spring that sits in the indent on the shifter. The bolt I stole off a shifter I bought on eBay. I couldn’t find it anywhere. It is a small shoulder bolt. It is like working on a watch.
