stayed at Hoffmans marina. great experience , however if you don't know how to deal with currents and wind , it will be challenging as the flood and ebb both rip through. excellent staff helped out tying up as I had lost my stbd engine (suspect the pounding on the way down got some gunk lodged in the idle circuit of the carb and she wouldn't stay running.) we cleared it up the next day. had to put up all the canvas sat night due to the ensuing monsoon and heavy thunder storms all through the night. my wife was freaked out , I loved it and slept soundly.

Great pics, your weather looked to be much better than what we had on Long Island. Are you a Class of 94 Maritime grad?

thanks , yes class of 94 deck. weather held most of Saturday , then late evening went in the crapper. the ride home Monday felt like october

82 Engine. Domer gave it away. Same weather on LI. Sunday we had 30 knot winds and heavy rain. Monday was definitely like October until 1600.

Nice pics and story, thanks for sharing them. Just one quick question....when your boat is tied so it's centered in the slip, how do you get on and off, especially when you have a little one?

Great photos ...spent a lot of time on the Jersey shore/NYC area growing up.

Great photos.
Sunday was a complete washout, and Monday was a good “get outside stuff done” day, but we got some great days in on the water Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at the air show was perfect.

Thanks for sharing! and good mems from the Jersey Shore surfing!

I had to run a "convenience line" from the finger and use it to pull the boat over while people get on / off. the current was prob 3kts in that pic , you can see the water piling up behind the transom. high tide was much better , you could step off the gun'l. not my favorite tie up situation , but at least I got experience doing things differently.

funny story , one of our uber drivers on the way back from the boardwalk one night was a Mass grad.... older guy , guess it was his "get out of the house" gig

Good to see so many Domers on here! Maybe we should start our own alumni thread haha! Nice pics Steve, in my back yard. I really like that round table, did you make it yourself? Hey Brian, '82 Engineers Rule!! Thinking about packing it in after 30 years with Con Edison. - Pete B.

Hey Pete, long time no see. I was at the Alumni Golf outing on Monday and had dinner with fellow '82 Engineers Foley and Brownie. I run into Domers boating all over the place. Last summer, sitting on the dock on Fire Island, I ran into one of your former Con Ed mates from '80, Bill K......and he had Jose F. with him. Small world. I retired at 53 1/2 from Nat Grid/KeySpan. I highly recommend it.
