Hello SeaRay Family! My wife and I purchased a 1989 220 DA. Its in very good overall condition but when I plugged in the shore power to test everything before launch while sitting in my drive, the volt switch box volt meter read 120v but nothing worked. All switches were engaged. No outlets, not lights, no fridge. I switched to batteries and they (lights only) worked fine. Also, when I flipped the reverse polarity switch it went red? Also, rustoleum copper antifouling paint was put on the outdrive. Am I in danger of the outdrive being wrecked via electrolysis? Can I enamel over that or must I grind it all down? Has anybody launched a 220 with midsized SUV like a mountaineer? Thank You! T

Anything with copper in it cannot be applied to underwater gear. Severe corrosion will result. Also bottom paint should not be applied within 2 inches of a transom.

Thank You BT! I will assume thats why there is so much corrosion on the outdrive and the zinc anode is massively pitted of which I have ordered a new one. I am guessing then the whole outdrive must be brushed down to the aluminum as it has copper anti-foul paint on it?
