Hello All,

I have Bravoitis on my Bravo III and want to plug off the back (which I bought the kit) and plumb right into my thru-hull valve to feed water to the Hardin water pump that I just boaght. My water pump inlet is 1.25 inches ID which I want to leverage off the existing hose. However, my thru-hull valve is .75 inch ID which is similar to the original size of the inlet tube on the Bravo III transom. I feel like I will need two 90 bends in my hose setup to reach the thru-Hull valve which is directly in front of the engine on the port side. Can anyone share any advice on how to reduce the hose size from 1.25” down to .75” and possible bends that I may need? Has anyone done this before and share pictures of your set up?

Thanks in advance!

~Mike

So you added this thru hull ? My 2006 Dancer's thru hull had a 1 1/4" outlet. Had a nice sea strainer, maybe you need one of those.

I was going to tap into the existing thru hull that feeds my A/C unit. I have three thru hulls (sewer, live well, and A/C) and I can’t see adding a forth. I was going to use the existing sea strainer too.

I do have a .75” fresh water flush valve that is tee-ed into the 1.25” hose.

The motor should have a dedicated feed.

Pump feed thru hull has a clam shell pickup that feeds into 1 1/4". Definitely larger than AC. Sewer has no pickup grate and have no clue what your live well pickup looks like. It's all about volume, and I would skip any 90 degree bends

I do have the clam shell pick up. I just have to go to the boat and see what size it is. I do know it is connected to the strainer.

Before getting into another cooling water source you might want to read some interesting articles about "Bravo-itis" from the attached link.

Looks like you may run into some other issues with a dedicated through hull water pickup. No affiliation with this company, just noticed the articles while shopping for a water pump rebuild kit.
