What product is good to get vinyl white? They are dirty and dull and need a good cleaner. Any sugesstions?

I have been using this product recently and like it....deeps cleans and leaves a protectant coating....use a stiff bristle brush for best results if vinyl is heavily stained with dirt and grime...

This isn't really recommended, but I recently (very carefully) used Acetone and a white paper towel to clean the cockpit seats. I've tried dozens of different vinyl cleaners/conditioners and really nothing worked to my liking. I immediately then applied several healthy doses of mother's vinyl protectant. Anyway ...they look brand new again. Hopefully with regular applications of milder cleaning/protecting methods, they'll stay that way.

EDIT: Don't use acetone. I tried Spray Nine and it worked great.

I've been using Spray 9 with a stiff brush then 303 to protect. But, I think I am going to try the Mequiars that Cliff recommends next.

Acetone should be a last resort. Megulair products like the one mention above are great. Finish with 303. You can use it on everything. Works incredible. Purchase a gallon and use it every time you leave the boat.

LA’s Totally Awesome Cleaner is about 10 bucks a gallon in Amazon. Use it straight with the green scour side of the scour sponges that are available almost everywhere.

I was gonna try Barkeepers friend on the seats with a green scour sponge. Thanks for all the replies. I also did just purchase the Meguiars Vinyl cleaner

I like Bar Keeper's Friend and use it a lot for cleaning various things but be careful using it on vinyl....it is abrasive and will wear down the vinyl......almost like a very fine sand paper....

Just did a deep clean of our vinyl using Scrubbing Bubbles bath cleaner. Haven't seen the vinyl like that in years. Went back over with Boat Bling products, vinyl sauce and then condition sauce.

Magic eraser with degreaser cleaner. Wipe dry and then add a vinyl dressing. Works great

Bar keepers friend and Magic Erasers are both great products, but they’re both abrasive. Be careful with them on vinyl.

Yes, my wife started using magic eraser on my vinyl, now it has places that look dirty, but are not, just the vinyl wearing down. Tried using various protectants now, but eventually magic eraser will cause me to replace the vinyl. That being said, bar keepers friend on the metal push buttons in the galley on each door, saved me a bunch of money and time, removed the green corrosion with ease, and they have corrosion free since (I treat the with pledge or metal protectant, like you use on stainless)

Spray 9 and if still bad step up to Marine strip.

I tried Spray Nine and the rough side of a dish sponge this past weekend, and it worked flawlessly on seats I had yet to clean.

I use vinyl floor wax remover from Home Depot . Then follow up with 303

Mix the remover as specified. Wear rubber gloves. Do not over spray onto any material. The lye in the mixture strips off the years of spray coatings.

You will be shocked how clean the seats look

I just used the Marine 31 mildew remover this weekend. It made everything look brand new, and I had a lot of mildew spots. I tried a few other products that didn't put a dent in those spots.
I'll post some pictures when I get back to the boat on friday
