Finally getting the PO's old name off the boat, and our name installed!!

Cara Mia is her name in honor of my daughter. Two mermaids represent my wife and daughter.

Jack Coletii at www.midnightoilworkshop.com did the work. Plan is to do a renaming ceremony and dance, sing, play the ukulele (jack keeps a ukulele in the van for just such occasions!), and spill some drink in us and on the boat. Hopefully this is a suitable renaming ceremony!

Here are the options, we're thinking the bottom one (in a cream/yellow).

I still will need to at 2 set of blue eyes to complete the look.

I vote for your top image. The darker font will be easier to see from afar...

Top Graphic, do the ceremony the right way....really.

Very nice! Well done.

I'd pick the one closest to their hair color (assuming they are blonde)

Naming ceremony separate from silliness and party gents. I've waited this long to rename for a reason.

Do the renaming ceremony the correct way. Here's what can happen when you don't.

My insurance guy should be paying me to do a renaming ceremony if that's the case!!

Hey how bout those graphics and colors?!

We have done the ceremony a couple of times and the parties have been epic. I have always found a friend to do the actual ceremony for us. One took it real serious and dressed and did it as a pirate. Hilarious....

I like the first sample. You really do need the contrast and if your boat is documented the Coast Guard requirements specify "high contrast."

Out buying champagne...

The minister (our friend) that married us also did the "official renaming" of our boat too... Then we partied !!!

+1 on top one and proper renaming ceremony. Don't forget paying homage to the 4 wind gods.

Ceremony will be followed to the T.

My only regret is we will be out of town for this, so is it acceptable to repeat once we get to our new home port with a bigger and rowdier crowd?

Don't repeat. Just have a nice toast.

Edit: you can always wait until you get home to do it as long as you keep all new name docs off the boat. Remember to purge all old names. Check log books, spare parts, etc.

Roger, well just continue the party...indefinitely!
