I bought a couple G4 base LED's to replace the eyeball lights. I like the color, and work great, however, due to the pins being short, I had to remove the reflector out of the 2 fixtures. That leave the little glass lenses free to bounce and vibrate around.

Anybody find these with long pins or a work around?

Hey QT.

You wouldn't have a part number or picture of the ones you choose? There are a lot of options. I'd like to get it right in the frst 20 tries...sigh.

Actually, after looking through my order confirmations. The side pin LED's were for my larger salon lights. This is the one I bought for the eyeball lights.

BP-G4-06-WW, I believe the pins are longer than standard. I can verify this weekend if you need me to.

These are for the lights in the headliner. It looks like the ones you are referencing have 30mm pins. I'll try a couple of these and see it they fit better.

I replaced all of my cabin bulbs last summer with warm white G4 LED’s and they worked out perfectly.
I got them from Amazon, these are the exact ones I used:
La Farah 1.2 Watt G4 LED 12V AC/DC Bi-Pin Light Bulb 2700K Warm White Waterproof T3 G4 Halogen 10W Led Replacement-Pack of 6 (1.2 W)

Thanks John.

I purchased a couple packs of those. I thought I looked another time and they were out of stock.

Yes, it looks like the 10 packs are out of stock but the 6 packs are available. Not at the boat right now, but I think you’ll need at least 3 of the 6 packs to replace all the G4 bulbs in the cabin.
There’s a lot of fixtures in there.
They’re slightly whiter and brighter than the incandescents I took out, but not bad at all. I like them.

I thought I counted 14, but I figured I'd get 20 anyway. I'll get them swapped out on this next trip, and I bought the Blue led for the cockpit lighting fixtures.

The next project is to redo the Nav, running and anchor lights in LED. I'm waiting till I get the boat home before delving into those. Getting the lights swapped out wpuld leave the Strereo and water bump as the 2 largest DC power draws...not mush to be done about those.

The spotlight is also out, but $50/bulb? I'd have to do a lot of night boating to justify that!

Speaking of cockpit lights...trying to figure out if they are working correctly.

There is a 3 position switch at the transom (schematic show only 2 position), and a 2 position switch on the entry switch panel. I would think this is a "3 way switch" arrangement, meaning I should be able to turn the cockpit lights on from either switch. Looking at the schematic, this would seem to be correct. However, the switches only turn the lights on when the switches are in a specific sequence. Do I have an incorrect switch installed at the transom??

This is the 3 position switch that back there. It has an up, center and down position. What do you guys have?

Should be 3 way switches (each with 2 positions) on both ends. Maybe someone swapped out a switch somewhere along the line? Maybe they put a 3 position switch at the cockpit door instead of a 3 way?
I don’t remember having to use any particular sequence.
Before you swap out the running and anchor lights, see if you can get any info on visible distance.
I left regular bulbs in those because if the running lights are on the motors will be running.
I was going to swap out the anchor light but read somewhere that although the LED’s are bright, they aren’t as visible from the same distance as the incandescents.
I never considered the spotlight bulb, but it’s not worth me spending that much on it because I very rarely use it.

Ordered the correct switch for the cockpit lights, and replaced today. PO had installed the wrong switch, so I now have the lights working from the transom and/or the entry way.

The correct switch is an On-On configuration, he had a On-Off-On, so they only worked when the switched were in the correct combination.

Also installed the G4 base LEDs JVM225 recommended. Work very well and color is very good.. Will need to order a few more as I didn’t count all the lights.

It’s always great when a fix is as simple as a switch!
Glad the bulbs worked out.

Of course the 1 switch was $50 as I needed to meet FP’s $25 min order and fed ex it in.

But it works!!!!!!:)

Ouch! Is that a Carling Switch? If so, I’ve seen them on eBay and Amazon sometimes. Not sure which numbers though.

I tried amazon...no luck. I might have looked on flea bay, but I don’t recall seeing the correct part number.

It was a $7 switch and a couple more for the white actuator, but I wanted it in time to carry down to the boat. To run get anything at the current location is a 2 hour round trip. I bought a couple of things I thought I might use in the near future.

I have an extra if anyone needs one. Yours for the asking, just pay shipping
