Nest week here on LI will be much better. We will salvage most of next weekend. Monday would be in question with remnants of a tropical system heading up this way but overall much improved conditions n the way starting tomorrow!

This has been the worst spring boating season I can remember. The lake is swollen at full pond and floating debris everywhere. Normally by this time of the year we have had 5 or 6 good weekends staying on the boat. This year so far one weekend. Long range forecast for Memorial Day Weekend is unsettled with 50-60% chance of rain. Yuck.

We aren't even in the water here yet. Got so far behind because of snow and rain I just finished waxing today. Still have to reinstall the teak, reinstall the 2 rear cleats, change engine oil, and just general cleanup inside, which we usually do after it's in the water. Waxed today in between rain drops. Hoping to go in this coming Friday afternoon. Should be able to get that checklist done tomorrow. We could probably make it in tomorrow evening but I know our ramp at our marina will be busy and the parking lot will be full so I'll just wait.

If I didn't own a boat I would be thinking about building an arc ;).

Hopefully we'll be rewarded with a great summer.

It’s so wet on LI I’m actually thinking about canceling our annual Memorial Day trip to Zach’s Bay.
May not be worth the fuel.

Agreed. It snowed sideways most weekends in April here and it was very hard to get anything done, but we still splashed on May 5th.

We’ve spent every weekend since on board and have kept busy doing whatever we couldn’t get to on the hard.

The weather is a funny thing.

Then sometimes it isn’t.

Around here a forecast is good for no more than 10 hours or so.

We can whine if we want to...LOL...Yes. I am down at the dock on the boat every day, in the heat, under the canvas. With gas prices going up as fast as they are, it's not all that bad to hang at the dock.. We just want some damn sun...Were all tuning into vampires over here!!

Yep, I am guessing that the weather delays cost me at least $0.30/gal on my first fill coming this week.

I’ve been in the water almost 4 weeks and we haven’t had a good boating day yet.
It’s been more like late March than May.
I did everything on the outside of the boat (while wearing 3 layers of clothes and a wool hat) except polishing the arch and stainless before I splashed. Almost 4 weeks later I still haven’t gotten to those tasks.

I don’t know.... Nor Cal is looking better and better. Rarely a weekend not suitable for a cruise. It’s the one activity we can enjoy still without suffering our wacky Big Brother government burdens too!

No heat or A/C here. Rain just makes for miserable boating.

More importantly, it's holding up my ability get the bottom painted and topsides waxed.

Okay ...you definitely get a pass... Get that boat floating !!

Blueone, where was diesel going for $3.68 / gallon? My marina still has it listed for $2.85. Just talked to the marina manager, fuel in their tanks was just tested and is good.
It was $3.69 at Jefferson beach marina.... I called Mac Ray and it was $3.49 or something like that not worth the trip

Where are you?
