Does anyone know of a mechanic who knows Westerbeke gens along the Jersey Shore? The boat is in Long Branch.

Good...hmmm. Here's a list and these are the ONLY ones, and it is very hard to get ANYONE to work on a gas generator (CB Marine wouldn't, and I'm right down the street from them).

I used Monmouth Marine last summer for 2 blown capacitors and they did fix it. I spoke to the folks at Oceanport but only after the Monmouth Marine had scheduled a date to ck out my problem. Oceanport seemed to be very nice people to deal with. I don't know who else will travel to your boat. I wish you luck!

Just to ask, what's it doing or not doing?

Thanks for the replies. It was running fine before layup. Now it doesn’t seem to be running up to speed which results in only putting out about 90V. Wondering if I have a foul d plug perhaps? Are the plugs easy to change?

Mine are right on the top. I think yours may be on the side facing the hull and are a bear to get to.

If you cant find this I can burn a copy and mail it or find a computer geek to help get it out of documents to a active link

Thanks everyone. We replaced the plugs and it's running like a top again!

It's a Westerbeke so that's $80 for two plugs and $200 for the service call. I'm glad you got it working great again.

Do download the manual it is a great help.

Unfortunately, there's always one caveat to this statement when it comes to marine gas generators:
"...for now."
