410 Sundancer/Express Cruiser and 400 Sundancer/Express Cruiser **Official Thread**

Your boat looks fantastic BOP. I’ve got to do my stripes too. I’m planning to replace the navy blue boot stripes with exactly the same as original next off season. My boat is a Monaco edition with the big painted Navy stripe under the rub rails down the sides and the navy boot strips look good with it. I’m still torn about the stripes on the cabin sides. They’re currently navy blue. I was thinking of mixing in at least one other color there but I like the way your boat looks without them.
Correction, your stripe is gel coat not paint. I removed the stripes on the cabin sides.

True, my mistake.
Thinking of taking mine off too, they’re both still navy blue, but I’m eventually going to have to do my cockpit vinyl and we’re seriously thinking of possibly adding an accent color to the vinyl seats and I’m playing with the idea of possibly bringing that color together with one of the stripes along the cabin and leaving the other stripe navy blue.
Maybe add some tan panels in to the seating, making it two tone, to update it and tie in with the cabin interior a bit and then running a complimentary shade of it along the side of the cabin as one stripe and do the companion stripe in navy blue again.
Then again, I only make suggestions about these things and the boss makes all final decisions........

Check out what we did with our vinyl colors!

Love it! That’s one of the nicest upholstery job I’ve seen.

That looks fantastic! I love it!
Exactly what I want to do with mine. My wife thinks she may want to mix in a tan though. Blue is my favorite color and she thinks I sometimes have too much of it.
The 410, the kids 18’ Maxum, the Corvette, the GTO, the hoodie I keep on the boat for cool nights, the sweats I wear to the gym and a lot of the clothes I have are heavy on blue.

When I found the fairly rare Monaco edition she commented that she knew if there was a 410 with blue in it I would find it.
She is the queen of pillows and I’ve managed to get her to get ones with blue in them for the cockpit and cabin.

We get two new lease cars every 3 years and she forbids me from getting blue ones.
BTW: I love the idea of the pillow backrest for the starboard side step.

Looking for a salon floor cover. I have snaps in the floor already.

Anyone have ideas on where to find one or do you have to have one custom made!

Local canvas guy should be able to make them for you. Shop around. Probably looking at about $600 for the three pieces.
The salon is 1 piece. There’s a small triangular piece outside the aft head, and another piece in the main part of the aft cabin.

Has anyone made a sunpad for the foredeck of a 400? I don't have anything up there at the moment and I want to make something that is comfortable for 2 people at least. Suggestions? Or even better, pics?

Impulse III did some khaki accents and they looked great. Maybe he will come up and post some pics. He sold the boat last year.

We did the tan inserts in our seats on a ‘97 400 for reference. These pictures were prior to installation of matching SeaDek on the floors.

Anybody replace the front AC raw water line??

My front AC unit has never had a good strong raw water flow. PO complained and worked on it before me. I put Barnicle Buster through it again and there was a slight improvement, but its still a weak trickle compared to the cabin AC. I don't get high temp alarms, but I think I should get better flow. I think there is some foreign material in the line, but its not coming out easily.

I'm thinking about replacing the water line. How hard would it be? Do I need the black corragated wire loom or can it go in "naked"?

So do I. Where did you find it or did you have it custom made?
I’m thinking it can possibly be done by making a template of the step area with a piece of cardboard, measure the height, try to find a piece of suitable foam that can be cut to that dimension (might be tough), then have it covered in vinyl.
Seriously thinking of making this a winter project.

My wife made one from foam and covered in a sunbrella material to match the pillows. Pretty simple really.

Do you remember what type, size, density foam she used?

New issue, one of my tachs stopped reading today, it powers up, shows the hours, and gives the hour glass but will not move and the hours don't count. Has anyone seen this before?

Not sure about the density but the size was just a template made from the “step” that it sits into with a round back and flat front.
