Ok, so we purchased a SeaSense telescoping LED stern light (part 50023963) for our 98-270 Sundancer (wide beam) which is for a standard 2-pin base. The light does not work and the seller (eBay) is telling me it's because our boat does not have the correct base.
I must be losing my mind because from what I can tell our boats have a standard 2-pin base for the stern light. The LED light end is the exact same end as our current non-LED light has.
Am I missing something here?

Maybe the new LED one is polarity sensitive... try reversing the wires on the base if you can get at them. Alternatively, remove the screw at the base of the pole so you can reverse (rotate) it.

You may need to reverse the wires going to your socket/base as LED's are polarity sensitive.
You keep beating me to the punch Mitch!

Yes, LED's themselves are polarity sensitive, but there are some fixtures that solve the issue with additional electronics. But in the OP's case, I bet it needs reversed.

I checked to see if it was a polarity issue by removing the alignment screw at the base of the pose and reinserting the light turned 180 degrees but it still didn't light.
I'm planning on bench testing the light tonight when I get home from work.
