Late 90's 270 Sundancer Thread

Inside the motor compartment, port side, close to the batteries.
Do you have the manual? You can download from Searay website or I can send you a pdf.
Ok so I found the charger and left it connected, do the fridge would stay on even without shore power?

without the shore power the fridge will be connected only if you turn the switch "outlets/refrigerator" on.
of course you want also the switch "ac converter" also on otherwise you will deplete the battery.

Hi Guys,

I bought a M606 Clarion and will replace the old xmd1 and remove the CD player. does anybody did that before and have some pic to share? I believe both the head and the CD are attached by screws on the front direct to the wood panel. Is there anything holding the units from the back? if it is, how to get access?
I tried to search old posts but I can not see the old pics on this site. I think it is something to do with the new forum version or so......

By the way, I am assuming I can use all the same connections from the xmd1, am I right? I mean, both the units are compatible no?

Installed the M606 and it was a direct fit. All connections were the same. All I needed to do was buy an adaptor for the wired control, from 6 pins to 8 pins. Everything works fine. Of course I replaced the black panel, once I don't need the CD changer anymore and the hole was driving me nuts!! ;).

Started the interior flooring. I've removed the carpets and sanded the old adhesive off. Yesterday I started installing the vinyl plank flooring. I still have some trim and filler yet to do on these sections. And I have to do the step/wall/threshold the goes into the mid birth. Then I'll start on the table areas. I have also included "before" pics so you can see the condition that the carpet was in when we purchased it this winter.

Wow, that looks great!

I want to get rid of our carpet pretty badly. It's in ok shape except for the main floor carpet which gets the most use. What I am not sure about is what to put on the sides where the carpet goes up vertically. Did you just leave that as a bare fiberglass? Does that look ok? Can't really tell from the pics.

How long did it take you to get the adhesive sanded off?

Hello guys my name is Giovanni, I want to apologize to anyone if I double posted something that may be already here but I couldn't find anything specific about my issue.

I'm new to boating and I really don't understand how this refrigerator works or been able to find out what model is it. I know is a norcold but not sure what series. Anyway Every time I plug my shore power everything inthe boat including air works. Now once I disconnect myshore the only things I have available on battery is lights radio and the water pump for the sink and etc.

On my main panel switch shows a button that says ACconverter I believe so I've been trying to figure out if my refrigerator and my AC should be working even when not connected to shore? I want to anticipate that I don'thave a generator.
I'm just really young and can t find a clear answer on the web. I'll thank all of you for you help in advance.

On my boat in order for you to run the fridge on 12V you have to turn on the refrigerator switch on the helm. It's on the lower right next to the water system switch. In my boat the inside panel is ONLY 120V items. Those switches have no function if I have genset/shore power disconnected. All of the 12V items are on the helm.

Yes, I left it bare. We did not have carpet going up the sides vertically at any of the fiberglass locations.
The only locations where the carpet went vertically was at the steps which are plywood. I covered those with the vinyl plank

Just got my '98 270DA from Wisconsin down to its new home at Eagle Point marina in Dallas on Lake Lewisville! It'll be the first time its in a slip full time as I have always dry docked it. Any tips would be appreciated! I have a few more questions that I will probably remember when I am not stuck at work, thanks in advance everyone!

This is awesome!! Where did you get the flooring?

Thanks! Same kind of flooring for the cockpit?
No, I used a woven vinyl (similar to Xfinity) that I purchased on eBay, templated and cut to size. Then I had a local canvas guy sew on the binding.

Does anybody know how to re-charge the auto fire extinguish system? The light on my dashboard is off and the print below it says that if it is off needs recharge. How do I do this?

Search google and try to find a fire or emergency equipment store near you. They can refill them. I'd imagine you'd just unbolt it from the bilge and take it out.

You should verify that the light is still working. I would look at the fire extinguisher mounted on the transom over the motor and read the gage to see the status. If it reads full I would verify the light wiring. If I remember correctly I had a loose wire on my bulb I had to fix.

Vector4, from what I learned searching on Internet, this type of gas it is discontinued and you can not refil. I was hoping that anybody here found a suitable replacement. Having said that, I did even know that there is a gauge to be checked in order to verify if it is empty or full. Thanks for the tip boatrboy. I will try to check this weekend. Hopefully it is only a wire or the light itself.
Speaking of that, the extinguish it's located far back attached on the transon, is the only way to get there thru the engine hatch or can be reached thru the transon locker?

If you bring a flashlight and a mirror you should be able to see the gauge on the bottle basically laying on the motor. There is no access via locker.
