SPLASH 2018

Been in for a few weeks now. Rain almost everyday for 15 days, but sneaking rides when the sun comes out.

That’s great! Now all we need is for the rain to stop, winds to die down, and temperatures to raise to Spring like conditions.

Yep - its great that I am finally in but I found a low raw water pressure issue on my port side. The serpentine belt is way too loose so I am hoping it's just slipping. The tensioner bolt seems to have been replaced some time in the past with a short one and I have no more room left to tighten it up. Just another project on the list now. Worst case; I will limp to my dock on one engine and work on it there.

Hopefully it’s an easy fix. A loose belt could do it.
My kids want to get the little Bowrider in this coming week. Hopefully my son will get the bottom painted over the weekend and start the detailing on it, but the weather report isn’t good.
I’m sidelined until the middle of next week with stitches in a finger so I can’t be of too much help to him.

What’s your water pressure at idle/cruise and are you getting an alarm? Engine with low pressure running hot?

Ouch, feel better with the stitches. I have barely even looked at get my center console ready for the kids.

The heat is on. We might have to have it in the water so we can use it as a taxi for the air show.

Pressure was around 2-3 at idle it would come up a little with adding a little throttle. Never let it over heat though port side elbows got warm while starboard were cold. I could hear a squealing so I am hoping for a simple belt replacement and adjustment.

Yes - now I am feeling the pressure for next weekend too. I hate unknowns like this when planning to be out.

Copy that ...Mine does the same on the port side (water pressure) and port runs at 165 at cruise while starboard runs at 159. Starboard water pressure is double what port is. I just did manifolds, water pumps, impellers, etc ...swapped the senders, and no change ...so I'm at a loss and I'm not going to worry any more this season. Maybe next winter I change all sensors and have heat exchanges serviced. Anyway ..that's another thread entirely. I'm interested to see what happens when you change your belt.

Well, I brought her to our home dock tonight. Still low water pressure on port but ran her on one engine until docking. I will jump in the with the belt issue over the weekend and go from there.

I had to ask to get mine out of storage this week at the Marina. There's still many boats that haven't been splashed. Mine was tucked in between a couple 40' Chris Crafts. It looked like a dingy.
Anyway, I'm excited to get started on some upgrades (new rims and radials for the trailer, new Harden Water Pump, new Alternator, new Garmin, new JL Blue Tooth receiver, new hatch gasket)....

..we went from Winter to Summer in MN. One month ago we had 15" of snow on the ground. Now it's in the 80's

Well, she's back swimming for the season!

Beginnings isn't at our marina yet... the folks that take care of her over the winter dropped her into their marina, and I had hoped to bring her home this afternoon. Of course, today we have small craft warnings in Buzzards Bay, kinda nasty, so I don't think we're bringing her to her summer home today, but at least she's in!

Launched as planned, weather was very nice, all systems are working and everything went well.
Unfortunately it is a complete rain out as most of the East coast is getting drenched.

The marina opened 2 weeks ago, and splash is Wednesday! Late spring here. Weather sucks lately here in Ma.
