Official 2003.5-2008 340 Sundancer Thread

My snap in carpet had torn at a few of the buttons and it needs replacement. I remember someone on CSR had a really nice looking infinity carpet made for thier 340da. I think it was a pattern they did themselves and it covered more than the factory patterns did. It really looked sharp. I can’t find the post. If you have infinity carpets in the cockpit of your 340 I would appreciate the help tracking down a good pattern for it the carpet. Thanks for the help.

Mine?? Very happy with it so far... http://www.clubsearay.com/index.php?threads/infinity-carpet-340-sundancer-pics.78804/#post-894577

Contact Dave Addams, he is here on the site and made the infinity carpet for my boat and many others. He has the templates for the 340.

Yes, thank you. That’s it. Is it holding up well?
Oh yea..The wife has a problem with red wine. It seems to come out of her cup a lot...LOL. No problem for this floor. It wipes right up. Can't say that much for the seats..( fyi, She now has a cup that closes , LOL ) From what I have read this year the price went up a bit. Not from Dave, just the material itself. See what he says. He should have the template I made. It fits MUCH better than the original from Searay.

One thing I suggest... When Dave and I made the template I added the yellow outline shown. When I installed it , it didn't look right. It was too small for the area. That spot is for the step and looks good without it there. I had it modified local. It was just easier for me.

That looks sharp. I will get in touch with Dave for a quote. Thanks for the pics and heads up on the area you removed.
Does it get hot in the sun? I have heard it the infinity weave tends to get hot.

It does get a little hot in the sun. A little water cures that on your feet.

I am replacing my serpentine belts on my 2004 8.1 w/V-Drives and would like to order them. Not planning on going with OEM Mercruiser, so can anyone let me know what the belt size is? A couple of searches on CSR showed 2285mm and 2830mm (big difference) so I am not sure. Serial #0M319692 seems to lookup 57-865615Q02.

That is the part number I posted - where did you see the 2285 mm ?? That's the one I was thinking it was just wanted confirmation. I will order the non-merc belts for the same price (or less) as above for both belts.

-Kevin

On this page there are two listed here. One is the 2285mm (with your part number) for '00-'04 8.1's, and the other is a 2111mm for the '05-'08's. Not sure why they would be different lengths.

I guess you could take the belt off and measure.

A difference I noticed with the belts on the 8.1s was the way it was routed around the circ water pump. Some motors had the belt come off the top idler to the alt then back over the top of the circ water pump then down to the main crank pulley. Whereas with others had the belt came off the top idler then under the circ water pump pulley then over to the alt then down to the main crank pulley.

The old merc service manual (30?) shows the former, although my motors (2006) are routed in the later way which resulted in the shortest belts. The old merc service manual also shows the manual belt tension adjustment, whereas my motors have the auto tension idler, so I'm not sure whether that have resulted in diff belt lengths too.
