480 DB Owners Club

Has anyone ever noticed the thru hull on the starboard side about mid ships below the waterline? Anyone know what it’s for?

Probably washer discharge. You can download a supplemental manual that has a lot of info.

I replaced the blinds with similar day/night shades from Blindschalet . com for around $400 a few years ago. There are a couple other RV blind places online. The sliding glass door curtain was made by a custom upholsterer.

It is the discharge for the Washer/Dryer. When I bought mine the PO had take the Washer/Dryer out and the discharge hose was just laying in the bilge. He did not close the small seacock under the starboard stateroom bed. Only thing that kept the boat from sinking was a small loop in the hose held up by a tie wrap. Didn't find that until year two of ownership.

Wow that’s crazy — didnt Know there was a seacock

Russ - I thought it would too - if not the shower sump - which drains into my common manifold. Funny that everything else but that does go into the CM...

Anyone know where to find these door lock innards. I’ve been looking everywhere all day and have gotten nowhere.

Haven't gotten to door hardware yet, but watching. Anyone know the part numbers for the head vaccum tank pump, one sounds like a monkey hitting it w/ a hammer. Also, anyone got a parts diagram on the sliding glass door into the salon --- 2003/4 vintage? Thanks

FWIW, for about $1400 I added a 9kBTU Marinair under the steps w/ some modifications to the power and raw water feed, fishing the thermostat wire is a pita, but it pumps out a lot of cold air, will freeze you out of the middle bedrooms. I also had to add a short piece of 6" insulated duct and along with one of these in wrapped duct insulation (so far Marinair has been good to deal with)

anybody have a source for a direct replacement for the salon lights for the whole 5" unit that is LED, or what have you done? thanks

WDR, I took my 5" gold light fixtures to a automotive paint shop where they painted them to match the satin nickel color of all the knobs I replaced in the boat. I then replaced the halogen bulb with LED. Very inexpensive but time consuming. I prepped the bezels for painting. I also did all the gold outlet covers to match as well. Next time down I will get a pic for you.

I just changed the bulbs to LED. I'd also like to get rid of the gold although my year wasn't too bad. About 25% gold, 75% chrome/polished.

Do you recall where you got the LED bulbs or a part number, I'd like to order them but am a long way from the boat? Thanks
