Honda Generator

I have looked at wind but mounting locations on a cruiser is very limited and the blades are very long limiting being able to move around that area. If your friend knows the amp requirement of a small fridge that would be helpful, its like a 1.3 or 1.4 cu ft one with freezer. I can always add more solar to the system. The fridge will only be running when I'm on the boat and the solar will be charging all the time then and in between.
Put in a bank of golf cart batteries...

That makes alot of sense I think I am scrapping the generator idea to much danger, but I did just installed a co and smoke detector in the cabin today.

You are entitled to your opinion, but let me set something straight. I am a member of this site and was long before I VOLUNTEERED for the role of administrator. I give up my free time to help the members of this site, a lot of it. Most of it takes place behind the scenes. I am not compensated, nor have I ever asked to be. I do it because I enjoy helping people. The role is a thankless position, and I know from my experience as an ALPA MEC representative, that you can not please everyone. You do one thing, you piss off another group...there is no end other than it is a labor of love. I have no regrets about performing the duties, and I feel I do it well....however, I am entitled to my opinion too, am I not?

I don't know what the blowup was but anyway have had the fridge going on shore power and it works fine have tried different temp settings and it works great. I am now running it on solar power only at 2.9 amps and at a 3 setting on the fridge and it keeps the battery at 12.3 to 12.4 volts and seems to be rising and temp in the fridge is at 35 to 40 degrees in the bottom of the fridge,so all seems to be working well. Boat is still at home and I believe after all the work that has been done is ready for the lake, just need a non 20-30 mph wind day to launch for sea trials. Can hardly wait!!!!!
