New Questions on Mattress / Bedding:
Does anyone know the V-birth mattress dimensions for a 2008 350 DA? Any experience with Quahog Bay Bedding?

Answering my own question for someone in the future who needs this.
The speaker is easy. It's just a pressed in cloth covered wooden ring. Pry it out, and remove the speaker. Won't get you anywhere with the stanchion though, or the rectangular cover.
The rectangular cover has 2 hidden screws on each side around the center of the box. These were so hard to get to, that I just pulled the screw heads through the wood frame. Easy enough to repair, and I will be mounting these like they should have originally, using automotive "Christmas Trees" like what you find in your car door panel.
Removing that revealed the through bolts of the stanchion, and the entire area was wet with condensate, probably from years of being wet. Removed the thru bolts and found very little if any bedding compound on the threads or under the plate. Fortunately, that is just fiberglass, so no wood to rot out. As the temps improve, I'll try to document with pics as I put this back together.

I’m so happy you posted this. I have the same exact problem. Been chasing it for years. Thanks for the tips

Quick change of topic, has anyone changed their cockpit sink in the 95-97 range 370's? If so, do you remember size and where you got it from?

Thanks in advance, Bryan

hello just purchased a new to me 1998 370 sundancer. i have a few questions for the seasoned pro's on the forum.
1.) What holds the center storage seat back cushion up in place.? mine keeps flopping open.
2.) The rear vent cover thingy that everyone is always looking for well mine is broken also on the STBD side. I found a guy on ebay that has one for 600.00 which is insane. is it possible to have one 3d printed..?
3.) how do i replace the track and rollers on the sliding door into the vberth..?
any help would be greatly appreciated

I can’t answer all fo the questions but I hope I can offer something:

1. The seat back is held in the closed position by a pressure strike. I replaced mine on Flounder Pounder. You can find it here.

2. The only place I know of finding those covers is that guy on eBay. As I remember, he was able to get a friend to create some molds for the fiberglass from another boat. It may be steep, but that part is not avaialble any other way. Good luck in trying to get it 3-D printed.

3. Can’t answer this question, but I know I saw a post in it here somewhere. My door is difficult to move at best, but I can’t even think of what it would take to cure.

the latch i have on my 96 370 has this for the drop down door where the life jackets are behind the helm seat.

Yeah, this guy in my home town with the vent cover is crazy! it was $300 a few years ago! is your vent cover the same as a 96 370? Send me a pick and i can make it from gelcoat and fiber glass if its like mine or send the old one and I can try to replicate, it's not rocket science....i like tinkering with glass and gelcoat. had to do a major job on my swim platform

Hey guys. Been a hibernating for the winter but now that we’re up to 90 Deg here in TN I’m back at it. I couple of things I wanted to run by you all to see if you have any thoughts:

- had my manifolds and risers replaced over the winter. Ran it a couple times but never more than a few minutes. Last weekend both motors got hot after a long cruise. Turns out there’s two different gasket/plate setups. One keeps the closed coolant system cycling through while the other opens some paths for a sea water coolant system only. Turns out my mechanic picked the wrong ones and I was dumping all my coolant out the exhaust. Something to be mindful of if you’re ever replacing.

- still on the hunt for my forward AC unit problem. Will run fine on shore power. But after a while on the genny it decides to reset when the compressor tries to come on. It will cycle over and over until I hit the breaker. Any ideas?

- I replaced the cockpit carpet this winter with the seagrass stuff from mattworks. Turned out great. They even did a trim for me after I received it for no additional charge. Sea dek is on the way now for the swim platforms.

- any suggestions on a replacement hose and sprayer for the swim platform? And maybe a more modern looking faucet handle for back there?

Wow. You may want to find a new mechanic. That should have been pretty obvious which gaskets to use based on your setup.

First, welcome to the club! I just breathed new life into my 98 with a fresh set of engines, and am prepared to get another 10 years out of her.
1.) Rubber Ducky pointed you to the latches
2.) I am the guy that borrowed a side from another member here years ago. I had my local guy build a couple of pairs out of fiberglass. One went back to the loaner guy, and one pair is stored away for me. The process damaged the plastic (fiberglass gets hot when it kicks), so be careful if you are borrowing someone's cover. Now, after doing all that, I took a different path. While the covers were off I had 2 things stick out. One, was the exposed flat spot became a perfect height step for coming off the dock and onto the dive platform. So much so, that I had the fiberglass guy roll non-skid on it to make it a permanent step. I never reinstalled the vent covers and haven't looked back. The second thing was there is a hole exposed where the vent hose hooks up. What to do about that? After some trial and error, I purchased 2 rectangular SS vents, exactly like the one in front of your passenger seat to vent the cockpit icemaker compartment. I bent them around a dock piling, and the curve was perfect! I am the only 370 out there with a mid boarding step. Haven't had to climb over the cockpit seat since 2003. Maybe you will decide to become the second one.
3.) I haven't tried this, but I believe your access to the trucks will be in the cavity behind the TV in the salon. I doubt you have to replace the track, but the rollers might be broken or gummed up. Another possibility will be the aft wall of the starboard closet in the Vee berth. Finally, look up at the track, and see if the part over the opening could be removed, and then slide the door out and at an angle. That's how I would have done it.
Sea Ray boats are just a big puzzle, with no instructions.

I'll see if I can find a couple of pics of the step

If the A/C is tripping a breaker, it's because it's drawing too much current, or the breaker is bad. Because you have no issues on shore power, it's likely, your genny may not be calibrated, and is not putting out enough voltage. So when the compressor kicks, the voltage sags, and it draws too much current. The forward A/C is bigger than the salon one, by the way. Easy way to monitor that is to get a frequency/volt meter and see what the genset is really putting out. Something like this.

Look forward to hearing about the Seadek install

I too am on the hunt for the mixer handle. Most stick out too far, and would surely catch you when walking by. I'll post what I find. The hose and faucet handle can be had in a million different places, from big box kitchen faucet sprayers, to greatlakesskipper.com or some other boat surplus place.

Thanks, Gene. That’s part of the issue. We were talking about the mixer handle, which looks like your grandma’s shower handle. Everything I see has a right angle handle that would stick out far enough to bump into when walking by. Still searching...

I am happy to report that we just had our first Florida week of monsoons since I did this, and it is dry as a bone.
I don't know for sure if it was the stanchion (likely) or the fixed portholes, and don't care. It's done.

I like that !! do you by chance have a part number for the vent..? I am definitely going to be the 2nd boat with the side step!!
I am not by the boat until Friday. I know I bought them at West Marine. Look at the one on the front of the passenger seat in the cockpit. I remember thinking it was the same size, but didn't measure it to be sure. It was only 15 years ago...... I think they were around 10 bucks each. You will have to non-skid that "step" or you will have unpleasant experiences when wet..... just sayin'. Beats the heck out of 600 per side for a piece of plastic.
Maybe something like this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/One-Piece-...m=122583897235&_trksid=p2047675.c100011.m1850
Measure to be sure!

Forward Bilge Compartment..? Just wondering where and how I can access the forward bilge. I have a high water alarm going off for the forward bilge but I do not have a separate switch for the forward bilge pump assuming I even have one. Sorry for the dumb question
