Drive line vibrations

On Sea Ray's website, there is a "Prop Matrix" that you can find under the Owner's Resources tab. That will give you the original size that was shipped with the boat. That's a good, safe starting point.

Did you hit something the last time out?

21 ft boat with 4.3 4 barrel carb

How do u know what prop to buy. Is there a way to look up what prop I need for my boat?
Not sure where you live but do a search for Propeller Shops in your area They will know what you need and often have used or rebuilt props available at a price lower than new.

While the prop is off, get a dial indicator and set it up to measure prop shaft run out/wobble. That will tell you if it's bent and by how much. Harbor Freight has them for not too much money.

Some props have the size and pitch stamped on the hub of the prop. The prop you showed is really bent and will throw the balance of the prop off and if it didn't have vibration I would be surprised. Also you said you rebuilt the outdrives did you replace the gimbel bearing? If you so did you check the engine alignment after installation? And for sure check for a bent prop shaft, with a prop that bent the previous owner must of hit something pretty hard.

I have a new prop coming. It should b here is week. An no I didn't replace the Gimbel bearing. I started an ran the boat with no prop on it out of water with muffs on it an I didn't get that vibration like I had on the water. But there was still a lil vibration but that felt more like engine vibration threw the boat

To let every one know I put the new prop on today an took the boat out an the vibration is gone. It ran great.

There are shops that restore props. Sometimes way cheaper than the cost of a new one. Google it to see if one in your area.

Good deal. Your prop was pretty well gone (from the picture, anyways), but even small dings and such can cause issues. Just like how missing a little tiny 1 ounce wheel weight can cause a car's wheel to be out of balance. It's all science!
