The story behind your boat's name

LOVE THESE DAYS
After the Billy Joel song Loved These Days!
Being a Billy Joel fan is a living on long island prerequisite. lol

Somewhere South
I heard Kenny Chesney use the phase to describe where he was located on a radio spot a few years ago. My wife and I thought that is was a great place to be, so we stole that phrase to name our boat.

Mary Lisa
My wife's name....creative huh?
Doesn't have to be creative if it's smart!

(And a heck of a lot easier to change than a tattoo if the relationship doesn't work out!)

Boats name is Wet Spot, it's on marina berth no. 69

Need Moor Time

My wife and I are both widowers, lost our partners when they were in their late 30's and early 40's to diseases.
We 'found' each other. She recently started a battle with cancer in her late 40's.
We ordered our new boat over the winter and took delivery. We definitely "Need Moor Time".

We live in a subdivision that doesn't allow any trailers, campers or boats on the property. I got in trouble having my utility trailer in the driveway once. So, I put it in the garage. We bought our Sea Ray 180 bowrider and named it Pillar of Autumn which is a reference to a ship in the game franchise Halo. I had it in my driveway for 32 minutes last year when we brought it home from winter storage to get it cleaned up for the season and I got an email from the HOA. 32 minutes!!!!!!!! We are only allowed to have a boat, camper or trailer on the street for 48 hours. The next door neighbors got accused of having tenants in their camper in front of their house. The admiral said I couldn't name this boat after naming the other after a "stupid video game". But, after all this horse sh*t with the HOA, she agreed that this was the perfect name.

First boat > Naut Nutz.....cool play on the nautical theme

Current boat > 5 o'clock somewhere....already named when we bought it

Previous boat was named Black Magic Woman. Picked it because I had 3 BMWs and wanted another one.

When picking name for new boat, first runner up was Killing Me Softly.

I kept the prior name on the boat I have now. The boat was named Gratitude and still is. I liked the feeling of it. (That is not me in the picture, its my wife's uncle)

My second boat was a Campion and was named "Our Camp". In northern Canada most people call their summer cottages "camps" so it was a play on using the boat as a cottage and the brand. I left it for a while, but then renamed her "Watermark". That was really a great boat (not me in that picture either. Witness protection program - kidding)

Seas the Day

Not the most original name I know but little different meaning to my wife and I than some probably. I’ve been a Paramedic/FF for 23 years and she’s an ER nurse. The things we’ve seen over the years the boat/name reminds us there are no guaranteed tomorrow’s make the most of every day. Our Toyhauler RV is named “See’s the Day”

BTW the HOA Violation.... that’s hilarious and totally sounds like something I’d do. Exactly why I don’t live in an HOA

Our first Sea Ray was Named "Knot Funny" because I used to do stand up. Our current boat is named "Still Knot Funny" just carrying on with a theme I guess.

New boat ... new name "Viva la Vida" my wife's favorite song, and a positive philosophy.

I bought my wife this birthday card on a trip to Cabo and said to her at the time, it would be a great name for a boat. We both dive and the card was cute. Fast forward a little over a year, the boat is purchased and she agrees to the name! I had a burgee flag made to match the card.
