SPLASH 2018

We joined GPYC in march and they could not get a slip we wanted... You have to join first then get assigned a slip a month later. So we ended up leaving. A week ago there wasn't a lot of choices.. so we took a slip in Jefferson beach. We joined Crews nest on PIB.... We plan on going there a lot over the summer.... So the slip at Jefferson should work out great.

Everything started and is working as expected. Dock neighbor took this Sunday of my first run for 2018.

First ride of 2018 on the Rideau River outside of Ottawa, Ontario. Air temp was 87 and water was 59.
The dog was very disappointed that he didn't get to go swimming.

I splashed on Friday with winds gusting to 40 mph. There were whitecaps in the marina. It wasn't a textbook landing with a bit of rubrail pinball, but i made it. The boat before me suffered a cracked swim platform and the guy before him tried to fend off on an anchor pulpit with his leg. There was so much blood on the dock that the marina had to use a hose to clean it.

Saturday and yesterday of course, were perfect.

My next boat... Looking good!

Thank you Blueone. We had a lot of work done during the layup and are really looking forward to the season!

I hope you have a great season, and enjoy your search for the next one!

First weekend on the boat went good. It was windy and I spent most of the day on the dock waxing. Doing the one step 3m color restorer wax this year.....not up for the full buff then wax. Getting great results for a shortcut.

That looks pretty good especially for a one step. Rotary and foam pad?

I'm getting anxious now, most of all my prep/maintenance is completed and looking forward to splashing next Friday 18th weather conditions permitting of course. I am traveling over the next number of days so unfortunately this weekend is out.

Getting close here. Had to order more outdrive oil and anode gasket today. Realized the gimbal anode has a gasket and the new one didn't come with one. Tracked one down (5 pack for about $5). Hit checkout and it was $30??? $25 shipping? It's smaller than a car key. So found it at West Marine. Also, changed the impeller for the first time and when I hooked up the muffs I have water coming out where the lower meets the upper so going to pull it back off to make sure the tubes are aligned. So wasted a quart of gear oil...lol. Still a little buffing and cleaning left too. Weather was horrible here this spring so got behind.
