Has anyone ever found anything to match this color to hide this?

Never had to do this, but I think this can easily be dyed. Upholstery people can dye seats and i am sure they can handle this.

I have a small amount of that same scuffing on my 97 330DA. I have done nothing about it, but was thinking about just spraying that panel with an off white paint after rough scuffing off the scraped area. Can't sand it because it is a textured piece. I found a white at home depot that was pretty close (used it on a mount I made for my inverter). I think with the texture, it won't look too out of whack. Or maybe I will just leave it for another year.

If it’s vinyl, the make vinyl spray...upholstery shop probably can custom match.

I have a similar piece of wood across the top of my dash. I just went to H/D and bought some paint...

Is your dash tan or white, I have a similar issue but mine looks much more tan than your photo. Would love to know what works as I need to find some touch up paint to fix it. It is slightly lighter than the dash itself and looks like a pita to remove.

This may sound nuts but I rubbed ours with a little compound. I get those marks from the vacuum hose. Try that or a quick wipe with some laquer thinner.

SEM makes an automotive paint/dye especially for painting/dying interior car trim, dashboard etc. I think you can find a matching color and have good luck with that.

I think you will find that "eyebrow" piece is a blow molded part with a foam structure inside. It is held in place with christmas tree fasteners and is easily removed by slipping a body molding spoon underneath and gently raising the outer edge. Once loose, remove the compass and take it off the boat to repaint it. I just scuffed the loose paint off and sprayed mine with PPG automotive acrylic enamel. It came out a tad bit glossier than the OEM paint, but I had part of a quart here that matched SR Artcic White, so I used it.

What exactly is that? Is it scratched down to the substrate? Is it mold spots?

No, just where the paint flakes off. I suspect this was a rattle can job in the beginning, but if you prime and shoot it with automotive acrylic enamel, it retains its gloss and hardness for a long time. The one in my photo above was sprayed 15 years ago.

Frank, once again, you are the man. I thought the damn eyebrow piece was epoxyed on or something. xmas tree fastener and some paint. I can handle that!

Guys, I finally got around to completing this project over the weekend. I wanted to share the paint code that matched perfectly to the "eyebrow" on my boat. It was SEM Color Coat 15283 "Pescadero Sand". About $20 a rattle can. The piece was held on by some #8 screws and some 4200. Just as Frank indicated, a dash pry bar popped it off and after disconnecting the light wires for the compass and removing it, a few simple coats of paint and she is much better. I filled the holes with 4200 before pressing the piece back on to the screws and made sure that it was snug and it's done.

Sorry, not sure why the paint can posted three times...

Nice. Actually did mine a few years back but didn't see the post in time to add my over valued opinion :)
