our dash panels are toast. Faded and cracked all over, and the switches are worn.

I’m looking at replacing all 3 large panels and the small windlass piece with the new flounder pounder pieces. Anyone have any experience with their panels? I’m leaning towards the black stardust instead of wood, we have black canvas and soon will have grey with black seadek in the cockpit so i think it’ll look nice but if anyone has done that color please post some pics.

Any alternative to FP for pre-cut panels?

Tecnographics possibly. They did a lot of oem work for Sea Ray.

Tecnografix is hands down a higher quality panel then flounder pounder. The craftsmanship shows with thicker panels, routed edges, and amazing warranty. They also cut all the the proper openings you need and have 1000’s of options. My neighbor went the flounder pounder route and has said many times my panels are much classier then his.

Thanks guys, I’ll reach out to them ( I see the banner ads come up on here)

The FP route was enticing since they have the pattern and less than $300 for the set but I don’t want low quality.

I don’t think fp is low quality but tecnografix is just super premium. What boat do you have? They just did a custom engraved and backlighted Searay wave on the dash of a 410 on my dock and it’s incredible.

I've used Tecnografix as well, and their quality along with customer service was outstanding. If you remind them that you're a CSR member they'll give you a discount also, but like I said I had to ask.

I put in new panels from FP several years ago and am very happy with them. I sent them pictures of my dash and they cut all the holes for me and labeled everything properly. I also chose the black stardust. It looks nice. I don’t have any experience with tecnografix, so I don’t have an opinion on them. But I haven’t heard anything bad about them.

We have a 98 290. It’s an upper piece for gauges, two switch panels on either side of the steering wheel and a small windlass panel. They also have the switch actuator kit for $56 extra

I’m just guessing but tecnografix is probably double the cost of fp.

I can tell you from experience tecnografix is crazy expensive, but just try to get the Sea Ray grey elm anywhere else. It's a no go!

Ah yeah, not worth it on this boat then. We love it, but realistically I can see us moving on in a couple years. It's become a functional issue as one of the panels is cracked in half. I think I'll go FP with the black stardust. With new switches we'll be less than $350 shipped.

I was under the impression that FP bought techno graphix years ago when the owner had a melt down and ran it to the ground.? Could be wrong though

Ken Gearin, the owner of Flounder Pounder, bought all of Scott Cambra's (not Technographic) equipment and inventory to get started in the panel making business. Scott had a unique method of LED back lighting his panels to the engraved lettering was dimmable red. It was a $100 up-charge and well worth the added cost. The lighting was hand made for each panel and was a direct replacement for the foil lighting strips that were OEM. I understand why Flounder Pounder didn't continue the LED lighting, but is is slick.

I've used tecnografics for three panels. All were perfect! Told them the equipment I was installing and the cut outs for them were exact. A bit more money but the quality was worth it.

I did my 330 with the fp kit and the new backlighting from them as well. I was happy with both and it transformed the boat. I just have the breaker panel left to do this year. I swapped all gauges for new farias as well

I had Scott do mine before the final meltdown and he gave the link to the supplier so I could buy the LED tape directly but I can't locate currently... will keep looking.

I also used Technographic and like others have said they are definitely pricier than the FP panels but have wrapped and finished edges. That may not matter for some inset panels but if your edges are visible the finished edge is a nice touch. I actually talked to both and even the person I talked to at FP said the techno panels have a cleaner and more finished look.

I went with FP for cost. The pictures don’t do them justice (look more glittery than they are) but a huge improvement including the new switches. With black canvas and soon to be grey/Black seadek we really like the look. One panel left to do, this is a longgg job. Before and after:
