How much does it cost you to fill up?

In the first half of last year's season, we paid $2.25/gallon less a $0.13/gallon discount from our marina. By the end of the season, the $2.25 had risen to $2.50. The most I ever fueled up is 282 gallons. That hit was $624.70. (Diesel)

This summer fuel in BC could be 2.50 a liter if things continue as they are. Be a lot of Canadian boats cruising the San Juans. If you do get a Washington State Park Pass. Nice area and very friendly people.
Gas got to $1.65 a liter when oil was 140 a barrel.
Cost to fill would be 2,900 CDN at 2.50 or 1,800 at 1.65.

Still 1.29/lt for marine up north of you. Sounds like the lower mainland has other issues with their fuel prices.
Only a 245 here but still cruising @ 22 knts for about $52/hr.
Would love to get something bigger but your numbers are intimidating.

Where are you located
I found Hartley Bay and Prince Rupert good. Not sure if they get fuel from Alaska

I trailer out of Terrace and launch out of both Rupert and Kitimat. Fill at local pumps. Marine fuel is available at several locations as a low ethanol premium sold for the price of regular. Sunday was my last top up @ $180. We ran a little better than 100 km last weekend.

Nice areas but long way for us. We have been to Kemano a few times nice area and not too many boaters. Only problem is lack of places to anchor. We lost an anchor at the hot springs near there.

Why would you ask something that makes us think about it? I just go crack a beer and try not to look o_O.

Sorry! lol. Every time I fill up first thing I say to my wife is "don't look". HAHA

I also try not to let it get below 2/3 full, so it's never as much as it could be. Really just fooling myself I suppose.

I sure hope not. We're heading to Desolation Sound in July, but the San Juans are sounding more and more attractive.

All I know is that I'd be happy to get fuel at the dock at $1.44/litre. Thats about the very best price I have ever been able to buy it at in the last 3 years and it wasn't local. During our summer trip I noticed nearly a 20 cents a litre variation in prices at the 3 destinations I was at.

I don't "fill up" due to performance and I don't want to take that huge of a wallet it.

Boat holds 330 gallons - and I always keep her between 1/3 and 2/3 full. Usually when I put in fuel it's about 100 gallons and right now it's freakin' $3.85/gallon everywhere on the lake for 92 with 10% garbage in it.

Total rip off as drive a block away from any dock and the same gas for your car is $1.00+ less per gallon.

Are you referring to Brim River? There seems to be unusual currents or breezes in front of that river. We actually had our anchor wrap up high in the rode last fall and lift out with the incoming tide. Had to retrieve the boat with my tender as it was entering the main channel. First and hopefully the last for anything like that to happen to me. The shorelines in there are not very forgiving as you would know. Most use Danforth style anchors around here. Seem to hold the best. Not sure how long ago you were up either, but the next two hotspring nearest Kimano have several mooring buoys now. Bishop, a dock and ramp as well.

That's fantastic! $800! If gas was only $3.05/gallon here, I could probably afford a 420 too! Haha! :D (next boat will be a diesel for sure)

Anyway thanks guys ..all good info. Fuel is what it is I suppose...the price of fun.
But they are talking US dollars!. We are at about USD $0.78 to the CAD$. So that $800 is CAD$1025

Right but that’s still $1025 for 275 gallons. I’m at almost $1300 for 225 and it would be $1500 for 275. Still, Mike in his corner of WA state is by far the winner here.

Just topped off yesterday, 80 gallons, 320$ here in FL. 4$/gallon. Normal price for fuel at the pump is 2.50-ish, probably 3$ for the ethanol free, 90 octane my marina pumps.

Just verified current ethanol free price at Wawa is 3.19, now I just need a truck with a 100 gallon tank in the bed with a pump, and then a way to get the truck close enough to the boat, and I’m all set! Even if the tank costs 1000$, it would only take me 12 100 gallon fill ups to break even!

Funny story. I had a friend and his wife visit us. We took the boat out for a long fishing trip then back and headed out for a long cruise to a cove about 50 miles away and back. Basically drained the tanks to near empty by the return to the marina. Fuel I think was about $1.60/litre that summer.

When we get to the fuel dock, my buddy said "let me pay to fill it up". I said you probably don't want to do that, its my hosting for the day, so forget it. He watched the $$$ rack up on the gas pump and was blown away. It got to a little over $500 and stopped. He said, I'll tell you what - I'll pay half. $250 for a great day is not too bad!

I told him that was just the starboard tank and we were only half way there, but $250 was fine. He was talking about buying a boat while we were out and how much fun it was. He changed his mind.
