Gas is usually expensive here in Canada ..British Columbia especially. This year it's unusually high though. After doing the math, I've calculated it to cost me exactly $1228 to fill up my 225 gallon tanks. (gas right now is $1.44/litre or $5.44/gallon). So my boat is roughly $163/hour to run cruising at 3500rpm. Well, it's going to be an expensive summer! :)

How much does it cost to fill up where you live?

We got as low as $3.68/US gallon here in western NY last year for ethanol free valvtec 91 octane. That puts us right around 500 to fill. It will probably begin at that price this year and then raise up as we get closer to memorial day

Non Ethanol on LKN is $3.70 gallon now so that's $740 if I took the full 200 gallons.

With my marina discount, I pay $3.80 / gal, so empty->full for me is about $760. Without the discount it would be $4.20 / gal (or $840)

This is here in the People's Republik of Kalifornia

I was in a good spot last year at $3.05/gl. At my reserve fill its $800... 250-275 gallons

That's fantastic! $800! If gas was only $3.05/gallon here, I could probably afford a 420 too! Haha! :D (next boat will be a diesel for sure)

Anyway thanks guys ..all good info. Fuel is what it is I suppose...the price of fun.

I hold 400 gallons. I never let it run very far below 50-75 gallons. Fill-ups are usually at least $1000.00.

Last year I topped off 3 times. I only took the boat out for 10 weekend trips and 2 sunset cruises.

I'm hoping to purchase a 20ish'-30' center console or walk-around this year for day trips to the Lake Erie American Soil Islands and the occasional fishing trip. Hopefully I'll only need to top off the big boat twice this year!

400 gallons max, but I'm usually adding no more than 300 gallons @ today's price $2.70/gallon for diesel including sales tax. $810.00

You guys are upsetting me now. Ugh. ;-)

NW Indiana here looks like gas is currently at 3.60 a gallon at marina so that's about 700 for me to fill both tanks. Thankfully they were FULL when I stored last year:)

Ex pat Canadian here living in Maryland. 87 octane: $2.90/gallon last fill up. Tito's Vodka: $30 for 1.75 liters.

Mike. Ask people what they pay for health insurance and prescription drugs. You'll feel better

Healthcare $650/mo with a $3k deductible !!! RX are filled at Costco for next to nothing...

$0 healthcare for up to a family of 5. Government work isn't so bad...;)

Not sure what the Valvtec diesel prices will start at but based on the fall prices of 3.29/gal less 10% discount = 2.99/gal x 530 gal tanks = $1584. We should have fuel dock open in the next few weeks and we will know what new prices are then. This is on the upper Mississippi river area specifically mile marker 19 up the St. Croix River on the Minnesota and Wisconsin border.

700gallons and the last time I filled up it was $2.33/gallon (about a month ago) = $1631

I think we have a winner! You have almost quadruple the capacity of my fuel tanks, and don't spend that much more than me. I'm sure you're range is much better than my boat too. Boating on the Columbia looks more and more attractive every day. It's not that far, right? :)

current price at my local station for non-ethanol this morning was $3.29/gal USD. 30 gallon tank so just shy of $100. Just a note, there are no stations near me selling non-ethanol 87 Octane (which my Mercury 135HP OB calls for) only available local at non-marinas in 91 Octane. River prices were significantly higher last year than pulling into a fuel station with the trailer.

Why would you ask something that makes us think about it? I just go crack a beer and try not to look o_O.

My marina is currently $3.95/gal. So, it’s about $889.00. Last time I filled it though was months ago. Prior to a 3 day trip.

Now I just do a couple hundred here and there or bring my 14 gal gas can down. $2.89/ gal and a work out that way.
