Lake Saint Clair Peeps

Thanks guys! I'm planning on becoming one of those old goats eventually, but I may as well learn from the best before I get stuck in my ways.

I'm down over by 11 mile, but I'm willing to travel to make sure she's nice and setup for the year.

My bottom paint is expected to be done by Sunday (heated / indoor storage). I also am having some canvas repairs done, a set of complete screens for the cockpits due to the bad bugs we get up in Anchor Bay, some interior curtains. Oh yea, my normal winter service in addition to my 1000 hour service.
A lot of work done this off season, just want it to launch so I can enjoy all the improvements.

Hi All,

I'm new to the SCS area and just purchased a 280DA that needs some work done on it. Do you guys have any recommendations for any local places? I'd be looking and getting some bottom paint and some mechanical items taken care of.
Welcome, you'll find this site to be very valuable. We need to know where about your boat is so people can make recommendations based on location.

Ezsteps.....Thank you for the suggestion about the Lake St Clair page. Our boat arrived today. This will be our first year out there so I look forward to hearing about all the spots to go. We will be keeping her at Mac & Rays.

Cheers....Brad

Welcome Aboard KF. I have used Colony before with my smaller boats. Probably not going to get a bargain though. I do my own bottom paint so not sure there. I know Ken at Michigan Boat Works does bottom paint. I have an old timer (independent guy) in Marysville / Algonac area that has done work on my 310 when I had it. He's tough to get a hold of and probably real busy but I could check with him if you want me to try. Nice boat SweetEmotion. Maybe one weekend this summer we could have a CSR raftoff in Goose Bay or Fisher Bay. I was actually thinking maybe a CSR channel on the VHF also. We have probably parked in the same bay next to each other before and didn't even know it. Usually I run on channel 72, that's what our M Dock Yacht Club (group at the marina)runs on. Maybe CSR could be channel 71 or something. Hopefully bottom painting next weekend, detailing get done week of 16th and launch soon after that. Trying to be in the water before the 27th. Good Luck on the launches everyone.

With the new summer just around the corner, I'm looking for a captain to train my Admiral to run the boat without me. My surveyor told me there is someone on Lk St Clair, but he never gave me a number? Do any of the Lk St Clair Peeps know of someone?

Dang weather. I was thinking about going to the marina today to cut the shrink, install the canvas, install batteries and just mess with the boat but I'm not sure if I'm willing to deal with this crap. Maybe I'll still go there and just take my heater and a cooler. ;)

Even Phil can't take the pressure ...something needs to give.
