I just put water in the gas tank. Any suggestions on how to get it out will be much appreciated. I believe water will be below the gas in the tank, how do I get it all out?

If you can access the sender hole in the top of the tank then you can remove the sender, drop a hose to the bottom, and siphon it out.

Let it sit for a few hours.

The water will settle underneath the gasoline.

As stated above, pull the sender and siphon from the deepest part of the tank.

Siphon until you get to the gasoline.

This. Get a pump and access it through the sender hole. Once you have it all pumped out put some more gas back in and pump it again. Don't start the motors until this is done! I pumped almost 300 gallons this way last summer.

... and after you think you have it all out make sure you carry spare water separating fuel filters and a wrench - just in case some more shows up in the gas.

Do you not have to worry about static electricity?

To answer the questions probably 5 gal of water & 90 or so of gas.
Just found there are companies that run your gas through their filter does anyone know about what they charge.

No. I don’t.

But there is nothing wrong with your gas. Letting it sit undisturbed for a few hours will allow the water to settle to the lowest portion of the tank.

All you need to do, or have a mechanic, is pump/siphon from there and you will be able to remove the water.

Update- I called a company recommended by a mechanic; they came out the same day got the water out and ran the gas through their system and it seems all is OK. Ran it for about 20 miles.

Glad you got it taken care of.

Just curious, how much did they charge?
