Cockpit sink and faucet upgrade - 99 DA

Guys, the sink I bought is stainless and a direct replacement made by Ambassador. I ordered off Amazon and it is no longer there but it is available through many other sites. Ambassador also makes drain options. I bought a chrome single faucet from Home Depot for $20 that looks great and has held up well for the last year. The stainless ones from Scandvik are the way to go for salt water. Biggest pain in the ass was getting the old plastic sink out. I chipped my fiberglass.

I "aggressively" ran a razor around the bead on my OEM sink and it came out without a lot of cursing. The Sandvik sink is also a bit bigger than stock so if you do scratch the glass you "should" be able to cover a bit with the new sink. Of course you do have to do some cutting as I mentioned above...

Serious scope creep on my project. Started off replacing a badly pitted drain in the sink and ended up with a stone surface, new stainless steel sink and a new faucet. And oh yeah, a new drain in the sink.

Now that' a nice result!!! Very impressive!

looks very nice....

I just opted to leave the original sink but I made a cover for it out of black plexiglass and I replaced the faucet with a stainless steel single lever.....

and I like your black insert on the galley top....I did the same thing...I used a 24" black granite floor tile and had it cut down to fit the top and had the edges rounded.....I used golf club grip tape to fasten it to the top....this tape is very thin but has good holding power....

and i also did the stainless steel latches and stainless steel drink holders.....

I also replaced the useless double drink holder beside the galley with a taller holder I designed made out of black plexiglass and stainless steel spacers which is also large enough to hold a black and stainless steel ice bucket.....the original holder is not tall/deep enough to hold a drink well....the new holder is tall enough to hold a couple bottles of wine instead of drinks if desired.....

these changes really enhance the look of the galley.....

CliffA: I need to replace the faucet in my 2000 340 DA cockpit sink. I see you replaced your faucet. Can you give me any tips on how to "Easily" go thru the process to replace my Whale faucet in the cockpit with the replacement Scandvik model recommended by SeaRay? Thanks

when I replaced mine I just ordered one off the internet....it was a very easy swap....took maybe 20 mins but I had easy access to the underside of my sink because I don't have a frig or ice maker in the galley cabinet, just a slide out cooler....I would assume you could remove the stereo speaker in the galley to reach the water supply connection...the new one connected to the original supply line without the need of any adapters.....if I recall i didn't even need any tools....the new faucet swivels up and down and right to left.....I like this feature because I can swing it out of the way if I need to sit something tall in the sink....

good luck...

This is one of those things I've wanted to do for a while now. I finally took the time over the long weekend to install the parts I've had since this winter. The project went almost too easily. The faucet fit the existing fitting without issue and the sink "nearly" fit perfectly into the existing hole. One time around with a jig saw and four drilled holes and we were good to go. For sub $100 I couldn't be happier.

The only complaint I could offer up is that the sink drain size was not as advertised. After buying three "correct" drains I finally had to hole-saw the drain to enlarge it. Not a big deal but it was a tad frustrating.

And I'm still trying to get that blue crap off my vinyl. That came from the plumbing below...and a dirty hand.

super nice, what a change. Great simple job and what a difference.!!!

Nice Job, but mine is different

You pull it up and water comes out haha. Really the emblem is just wrong it’s a single inlate, and single valve.

ah. ok. thought I was missing some magic. My guess is they source that faucet handle to multiple assemblies, some of which have mixing valves.

has anyone replaced the sink in galley on a 95 330da ?

Looks great, but that's not a 400 DA.
