We just bought a 2004 Sundancer 460 in Lake of the Ozarks and are needing it shipped to
Lake Allatoona in Cartersville, Ga. We do not want to remove the hardtop and want a company that will back the trailer in the water instead of needing it loaded and unloaded with a lift. Any help would be greatly appreciated...

One of the last post's:

Thought I'd follow-up with my good and bad boat transport exercise in case it's of help to anyone that searches.

Good: Actually outstanding. Company called Hurricane Marine Transport out of Ohio. They were recommended by the boat folks, and did a helluva good job. Spoke with them on a Thursday, they committed to picking it up the following Monday and have it 1,000 miles away by Wednesday. Not only did they hold up their end, but they arrived at the marina Tuesday evening.

The gentleman's name is Ian, and they had fantastic equipment and provided their own escort vehicle for the trip. They did everything the right way, escort, permits etc - and I was happy to pay them.

Without hesitation I’d recommend C and J boat transport. (772) 201-3444
Jim and Cindy are awesome. They hauled my 460DA and were perfectionists with daily updates

I agree. I used C&J last summer to move my 48 Sundancer from NJ to Nashville they were very good and very dependable. I would use them again in a heartbeat. Good folks

OK, I have to ask, why do you want it off loaded like this?

To haul a 460DA without removing the hard top requires a drop deck trailer and it is going to be very difficult to find a boat hauler that will submerge his trailer brakes, lights and hydraulics on a launch ramp. Further it requires a very long submerged launch ramp.

If there not a travel lift somewhere on Lake Altoona?

I used George Marfo about 4 years ago to move my boat from Florida to Ohio. Great service! His email was: allstatemarine@gmail.com

I agree with Frank that not many truckers are going to agree to back their trailers into a launch ramp and risk damage or getting stuck.

I do not believe there are any travel lifts on Alatoona.

So what do boat owners there do when they need the boat hauled for bottom paint or maintenance?

I see pictures of large boats on that lake. Are none of them ever hauled?

Thanks for the great relies. We used Rays Marine Transport out of Jefferson Ga.
They were incredible to work with. I would highly recommend them.

Did you buy the one Dry Branch Marine had listed?

Did you have to remove the hard top? I'm trying to get my 2000 370 express shipped and they say the hard top must come off.

Did you end up using that rail system at Park or did they wet launch it for you?

Yes the top did come off, but Rays Marine had a lift on the tractor. They unbolted it, disconnected the
radar, gps etc. and sat it on the crate. When they got the boat here they reconnected the electronics,
bolted it back up and caulked with a perfect line. They do an outstanding job

They quoted me 16 hours labor to disconnect the electronics pull the top and pull the props.
