So this time of so called spring in Ohio sucks and like normal early spring is never nice here. Normally by this time I would have already been under the shrink wrap of my 230 Wk that would be sitting on it's trailer next to our house .This spring the 310 Da. is 2 hours away under wrap and the weather is still to cold to get started with this years boating season.

Wife and I were talking at lunch - seems like forever since we have been on the boat - wait - it was last weekend that we got back from a boat trip.

My boat will be in the water in 11 days! I've driven down to the marina 4 or 5 times to do little projects before launch so it can go straight from the building to the hoist. It'll be nice to not have to make the 2 hour 15 minute drive anymore once the boat is in since I'll be living on it all summer! One more trip to the boat tomorrow to finish my to do list and then I'll bring the batteries on the morning of launch! I'm ready!

We went down this morning and did an inspection, the wind was howling and the boat was just begging to be cleaned and readied for the season. We stayed in water this year and I gotta tell you it was unnerving to say the least! 2-3 weeks until we pull the shrink wrap off and get busy!

Reason # 23,987 to move to Florida.
According to the news there is a mass exodus from California, if you can suffer the taxes and libs, the boating is year round! Had a great St Patty’s weekend cruise yesterday
Carpe Diem

No thank you Cali it's only a matter of time before your state officials decide your recreational vehicles pollute to much and you will not be able to afford boating either.

Now it you gotta do an exodus that's the way to do it.

Big Roger That!! Gonna hurry up and wear her out before that happens so we are boating double duty these days!

32 degrees here as I type this......seems like winter will never end.

Yep another cold windy winter weekend and with the nor'easter in the forecast for this week the wrap remains on for at least another week :(

It hit at least 58 degrees today on Catawba Island, OH and not a cloud in sight! Nothing but sun and workin' on the boat!

A little love from N. Texas from this weekends cruise....seems we're out of the chillier weather...80 yesterday - 78 today.....the same for the 10 day forecast.

We took the boat to the club last week to fuel up and put 237 gallons in her. Then went for a leisurely cruise about 5 miles up the river then turned her around and headed back to the slip. It was a bit chilly outside (60's) but almost too hot in the fly bridge.

Great way to open the season.

Rub it in!

Back in WA Mike? Out of curiosity, how much did 237 gallons cost you down there? Gas prices are insane in BC right now. Spent nearly $500 on 85 gallons this weekend. (granted that's CAD but still ridiculous) Thinking we might need to adjust some of our summer cruising plans and head down to the San Juans, etc instead of north.

I recognize that bridge. Remember when it was being built and we would check on it from the lake every weekend.

I know right??? My launch day was supposed to be in 10 days 18 hours and 14 minutes as I type this... I've been counting down all winter long. Now it seems as though it's not possible to launch her when I want. Life always seems to get in the way... Looking at the guys out on the water makes me miss it even more!!!

Updated forecast is putting us close to another 6" of snow this week. Guess I can't complain - I am getting my money's worth out of my shrink wrap this year. Not even a 50 degree high in the 7-Day. Will winter please leave now.
