Saloon Table

Shootin' up the SALOON!

Consider looking instead for a salon table. I think you'll find that a saloon table is 1.) likely too big, 2.) not ignition protected, 3.) probably has a lot of aftermarket artwork, 4.) may not carry the necessary NMMA yacht certification and 5.) will potentially impair your ability to properly enjoy your time in the salon.

Technically a saloon table would be on a sailboat, a salon table would be on a powerboat.

Being more serious, Great Lakes Skipper or Flounder Pounder might have something OEM, there also was a member here that made some beautiful tables as OEM replacements.

Goodale marine makes some great stuff and will lighten your checkbook.

Those teak tables from Marine Teak look really good. Lots of style election and the ones I have seen on CSR whree people have finished them with Epoxy and/or marine varnish look really nice. I would browse their site if I were you.

for my personal taste I would recommend staying with the OEM style white fiberglass tables that blend in well with the cockpit.....the wooden tables that many people like and use on their boats are beautiful and show great workmanship but they usually just don't blend in with anything else color wise and material wise in the cockpit.....usually there is nothing else made of wood in the cockpit....IMO they sort of look out of place....again, this is just my personal taste and just my opinion....

I think he is looking for either a saloon or salon table.
Anyway, to the OP. Go to the next boat show in you’re area. There is almost always a vendor who makes tables at the boat show around here. He often has lots of samples on display including different kinds of bases. He’ll also make up just about anything you could want for the space. Likely something that might suit your needs even more than the factory one.
Just a thought:
My boat is similar to yours in size and if I didn’t have anything I would probably have one made up with drop leaves of some sort so I could have the option of a bigger table that 4 people could dine at inside the salon.
The leaves could be left down when not dining so the table would take the same space as a factory table.
If the base was a drop down it could even be used as a coffee table, or a place to put your stocking feet up on while watching TV or reading the paper.
A drop leaf table and two inexpensive cubes (better yet, the round version) with the right color fabric on them to double as seating could make for a decent dining table.
Something these boats are sorely lacking.
If I did that on my boat I would keep the cubes in the aft cabin when not in use and set them up as little ottomans.

1) If you start at the beginning you’ll notice he’s looking for a salon table not a cockpit table.

2) I’m very pleased with the look and quality of my 6 seat teak cockpit table compared to the plastic POS factory table that had the look of a total design oversight and was embarrassing to say the least. But as you stated, it’s just your opinion!
