I replaced the rotted out trim pump bracket on my 3.0 Mercruiser and now have a leak on one of the pump line fittings. It is very snug but still leaks. Constant drip, drip, drip. Can I try teflon tape on the threads or is there something else I should be aware of.

Tape won’t help. The threads don’t make the seal at that connection. The seal is the flared end of the pipe being pushed against the flare inside the pump fitting. The threads are there to push the 2 flares tightly together.

Take it apart, check for dirt or debris on the flared ends, and look for any damage as well.

It may help if you try to rotate the metal pipe to a slightly different position when reinstalling it.

I just replaced the bracket on mine (and also the solenoids at the same time). Don’t overtighten the connectors. I did first time and checked manual and did it again but not so tight

I now need to get some more trim fluid now before I can ops check it.

Well I bought trim/power steering fluid and realized the pump hydraulic fittings are quick disconnect so I didn't need to break the flare fitting to the quick disconnect fitting. Pulled the QD off, cleaned it, reinstalled and now all is well. Sometimes we are our own worst enemies!
