don't have one, looking to buy a 1982 SRV390
Engines
looking at cruiser 7.4s
Hello. Let me start with I am new here, have had boats on and off through my child hood but not so far as an adult and not as large as what my wife and I are looking at getting. Our plan is to buy a boat this off season for use next year and I've been looking for something that is on the larger side so we can cruise Lake Michigan and cross to see my parents (30 to 40 foot).

In my searches I found a vessel in St. Joseph MI that caught my attention, it is listed as a Sea Ray SVR 390, which I believe they my have miss typed. It is a 1982 and looks a lot like a SRV 360 Sedan from the same year. Problem is I cannot find any real information about this 390. Being the type that wants to know as much as possible before buying something of this nature I was hoping more information would be available.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

The 390 began production in 1984. Is it broker listed or FSBO? If the owner or broker insist it is 390 then they are not very knowledgeable. If you move forward please have a thorough survey done. Hard to find a boat that age that doesn't have issues, but they do exist.

Thank you for the response. It has helped me out.

From what you said and the pictures that were taken I believe they may have made a mistake on the year. The boat is tagged a 390 on the side of the cabin.

I came here for the exact reason you did. Same boat same listing. I own a 1985 390 and I saw this saying it's a 1982 390. I knew SeaRay didn't offer a 390 until 1984 and was sending the seller a note to say either you mistype the year model or it's actually a 360. I think it is a 390 because the master bed is centered and the 360's it is slanted. Think they have the year model wrong. the BIN number will tell the year and model. 390 will be part of the BIN and the last 2 numbers is the year model. Example: last 2 numbers are 82 then it's a 1982. 84 then it's a 1984 and so on. It is very well priced if it's in any kind of shape at all and even if it is actually a 360. 360 also has the 13'11" beam. The other misprint is they claim 2 1/2" propeller shafts. They are actually 1 1/2". I'm not in the market for another boat or I would go look at it. One other concern is if they misprinted those things what else are they saying that's incorrect. It's still listed on Ebay at $10,000 or best offer. Certainly worth looking at.

Does the one you’re looking at look like this with the T tops?
