Has anyone removed the curtains and put in some blinds? I am looking at doing so with some 1/2 inch micro blinds to update the look. Thoughts?

Funny.. I just ordered a set for our boat yesterday. I went with levelor 1" wood in cherry. I was on a boat identical to mine last summer and he changed to blinds and it really made a big difference...it looked more up to date and opened the space up a bit. It looked really good.
I am replacing the curtains over the galley sink in the pic and 80" length over the sofa

Sea Ray has used blinds in some models in the past. My 370 Expresss had them and they looked good.

The problem with Levolor was the Cherry finish. It was a premium price and added 30% to the cost. If you can stay in their standard colors all the better. I looked at Bali and Graber but could not find a stain match. Also, the 1" doesn't have the same color choices as the more popular 2".. that was the case with all 3 vendors

We are wanting to replace our curtains with blinds. Had them on our previous 47DB and we like the appearance.

Should we be talking to people who have experience with blinds on a boat? Realizing that the mounting options would be different than in a normal home.

Any ideas on how to find an installer that has worked with boats?

Thanks

I was just going to use the holes from the curtain rod. My area to mount the brackets is flat and wide ... so no problem mounting them like you would at home

The factory fitted blinds also have a wire trace going though the ends of each Venetian and secured to the base of the window sill to stop them flopping around when underway

Before and after both looked good.

Beautiful what brand did you use?
Levelor 1" Cherry 110MS001

The pics make the blinds look dark but they are same color as the trim. I had a ton of samples from all major brands and the Cherry was the best match... And of course at a premium price
