View attachment 53995 Out at the potential new (to me) boat today. Looks really good! Question - Does anyone with cabinets like these have this problem? It looks like it is delaminating around the corners. Not all corners of all cabinets but more than a couple.

Image is turned sideways...I will have to figure that out for future posting!

Read the following. FYI I have a late 2001 build and have the satin sheen finish and everything looks perfect. A buddy has an early 2001 build and has the high gloss and does have the wavy delamination look in places.

We usually only tip once a year at Christmas time. But we only have A dockmaster and not assistant or dock hands. But when I tip him it's around what your estimate is. $120. Additionally, we don't usually use him for extra help - our neighbors all help one another.
Appreciate the candor... like I say, it’s a minefield to someone who has not grown up in a tipping culture... many thanks!

The one I looked at in Atlanta had this problem. Was a 2001. Our 2003 does not seem to suffer from it.

Hey tigger, where are you from? I'm only curious as I haven't traveled too much out of this hemisphere.

Thanks to everyone’s help on the other thread, I’ve successfully pulled our old (hideous) white Sharp Carousel microwave... looking to replace it with something shiny and new (but inexpensive)... what’s the general consensus on best (silver/stainless) microwave ovens or microwave/convection ovens?... the shelf above has a vent, so I guess we can go microwave or convection oven... any suggestions as to best (largest vs best value) that will slide right in?

Thanks in advance,
Simon

I'll need to check and get back on the model. This fit without too much work. The width was spot on , but I did need to cut down the filler that the microwave is mounted on.

Getting closer on our 400 purchase. One thing that came up at sea trial was the captains chair was leaking pink/red fluid. I assume this was coming from the hydraulic piston. I looked in the parts manual and i only find a seat glide, it doesn't mention the piston. Has anyone had this problem, or replaced/repaired theirs?

I have not seen a hydraulic captain’s chair before on a 400 Sedan Bridge. May be aftermarket.

Mine and all my buddies with 400DBs all have the hydraulic seat. Both mine were failed at about the 12 year mark. It fails by putting the chair in the highest setting, which is like a bar stool. A replacement cylinder is $200. So, I just removed the cylinder from each and the chair is now at the lowest setting. Which turns out to be the perfect height. Not sure why they put the adjustable height cylinders in there. Just another thing to break. I guess they figured a bunch of basketball players were going to buy this model.

Thank you sir! - any chance you know where you bought? part#?

NM - I read again and saw you never bought. That being said - if you know where to get part, any help would be appreciated.
You have to take the hydraulic lifter out and get the exact sequence number that is stamped on it. You have to buy that exact same lifter. Mine are still in my garage. I'll post a picture of it.

Here is what you are replacing. Once you remove yours, just call the phone number and give them the long sequence of numbers that is stamped on it.

FINALLY, after about 80 hours in about a 2 month period on my knees and a million times getting up and down and back and forwards I'm done!!!! Ready for a big cold beverage now, cheers ;)

Really excellent craftsmanship. How do you open the engine room hatches? I open mine all the time so I can't do without those pull handles.

Thought I’d try to do my part to add some value to this great forum, in case it helps any newbies out there that, like me, are still figuring out how these great boats have been put together (and, therefore, what we need to do to take them apart/replace various items)… when I was looking to replace the old (ancient) white 0.9 cu ft Sharp Carousel microwave on my 2003 SB400, I couldn’t find anywhere that clearly documented what, where, when and how… so, see attached my annotated photo record of what I did together with how I did it… if anyone’s interested, I replaced it with a (stainless) 1.3 cu ft Panasonic microwave: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01DPZD2MO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1... I hope it helps?

Thank u ZZ13
I only open mine 2 or 3 times a year and then I just go through the rear hatch and push the engine hatches open from below. I have the stainless steel pull handle and they really look nice but I didn't like the idea to step on it and dirt collecting in it but I can still add them if see the need...

Juergen, that is beautiful! 80 hours and it is very nice. I'll bet the next one you do you can do in under 60. When are you planning to come?

Also, are you on Keowee? I missed that lake when I ran through SC selling SnapCapn last December. I had the flu so I wasn't thinking too clearly.

Outstanding! Floor really looks great. I was thrilled when my wife said, keep the carpet in the staterooms, so I'm well aware of how much work this was to carry it all the way through. Totally worth it now that it's done tnough. We're very happy with ours. I just spent the weekend crawling through new Nordhavens, and Kradey Krogens at trawler fest, and was incredibly unimpressed with their laminate flooring at those price points.
