placing factory order - dealer says 4-5 months for delivery of sport boat

Boat arrived at the dealer today. Few days to rig it and do their internal tests, then I can go sea trial and take delivery. But it does not look like the lake effect weather is going to cooperate....

Dealer called today. After 15" snow on Friday, they were dug out and roads were dry. He dropped the boat in the water for his check out. He called at 10:30 this morning and said if I got up there, I could test run it and bring it home. Since our weather is forecasted questionable for the 14 days starting tomorrow, I took him up on it. After a long ride up, I did test run the boat in 32 degree weather and some ice floating in the river here and there. Boat ran and handled well. Amazingly quiet.

Wish I had more time to run it, but didn't want to chance an ice hit. Finished up and towed it home. Tucked it in my warehouse at 10pm. Looking forward to checking it out a bit more tomorrow during lunch, then planning a long weekend with her....

Awesome!

Paul, you remind me of me. When I bought my first boat (20' bowrider) the day we sea trialed it on Puget Sound (late January) there were about 3'-4' waves and we were bouncing all over the place. The dealer didn't really want to take it out but I wasn't going to take a boat all the way back across the state without first making sure it would even run.

Two days later I was on the Columbia River, snowing like crazy, me with my head sticking out through the boat's camper canvas, and grinning like a complete fool. I was out there about an hour or so. I didn't care about the cold or the snow, just that I was on my boat.

Have fun with your new baby!
