Teak Decking Systems makes the floor at their manufacturing facility in Sarasota, Fl. Completely laid out and caulked. You can have your choice of white or black caulk. All teak is epoxied to a fiberglass backer and then shipped in a create. You take it out of the creates and reassemble it on your cockpit floor. They had the template because they are the OEM supplier for Searay. Basically, I wrote a check. Real easy. It gets screwed and epoxied to the cockpit floor. If you are good with woodworking, you can do this. How is this assembled? Is there a wood backing? Also how did you secure this to the deck.
No, I didn’t do the swim platform. For a couple of reasons, the first one being maintenance. The swim platform is always outside uncovered in the sun getting beat up. The second was the additional cost. It just didn’t make sense. But, then again, that’s me. You may want to do it. My cockpit teak is always covered and pretty easy to keep clean. Outside it would be a constant battle, it would always be dirty and grey.Did you do your swim platform also? If so do you have picture of it? The whole project looks like what I've been wanting to do just trying to find the right source.
Thanks
Steve

That good, they are VERY helpful. Also, if your doing it yourself, when putting on the sealer use either their sealer or “Wonder Teak” sealer. They are both water based and easy to use. They say 2 coats, I do 3 coats. It also needed 3-5 days to completely dry after sealing because of humidity in Florida.Thanks. I talked to Matt there today and he is looking into templates for my boat. Sounds like a project I could do. He gave some good tips on installation. There is a boat at the lake here I’m going to try to track down to look at.
