54* in Rochester, NY yesterday, 34* today, 65* next Tuesday. I can't take it.

The good news is the ice shelf is breaking away on Lake Ontario, so once the consistent 45*+ hits we should get in the water pretty quickly.
 
81*F and sunny in Charlotte, NC......:cool:.....
 
Our lake is starting to show ice that looks punky and unsafe. Last year, it went out on this date. However, that was earlier than normal.
 
Launch date for me is March 28th!
 
I'm sure Mike and Dave will be happy to get you in the water that early. Assuming the ice is out.

That is the plan. It's always weather permitting as well. We're usually the 1st boat at our marina in the water!

I get everything ready so when they pull the boat out of the building it in goes right to the hoist and in the water. They like not having to move it out and shore it up again!
 
We've we've had a few boats go past our house over the last couple of weeks, although it is mostly cold and windy and keeping folks off the lake. Mostly fishermen so far in fishing boats, although a the coast guard just went by on a big RIB. They are training newbies and getting the lay of the land before it gets busy. According to the US Corp of Engineers, Lake Michigan is 9" higher than March 23 of last year. We added rip rap to our sea wall last year due to the high water. Looks like it will be up again for the summer of 2018.

I guess I am one of those toughened up old Michigan boys. I can withstand all that Mother Nature throws at me......as long as I don’t have to work on the boat outside of the heated warehouse....:):):):):)
 
Heated would be nice. None around here that I'm aware of. I hate the fact that in the spring it's warmer outside than in the building until all the frost has gone out of the ground:(

We have some storage condos in Grand Haven for very large boats. The buyers put kitchens and bathrooms in them so they can stay overnight on the boats while doing the work. If I were younger I would buy one. They are able to "boat" twelve months out of the year. They detail and perform maintenance under ideal conditions.

I am one of those heated storage toughened up old Michigan boys.... I can get to the truck from the warehouse with no problem

I'm in heated storage but they don't have a bathroom. This year I left some water in the boat so we can use the head while we're there.
