I'm making up a spares 'kit' for our new to us 280 with twin 5.0. Anything to add to the following:
2 Qts. oil
1 can power steering fluid
1 IAC valve and foam cover
2 fuel filters

Of course along with that is a full tool box

Belts, impellers, spare filters for everything, for me 15 & 22mm plumbing connectors, duckbill valves...If I went down to the boat and went thru my storages I'm sure I could make this list quite lengthy... We'll spend 2-3 weeks on the boat in Canada with no marine store anywhere in site. It really depends on your cruising habits & location of spare part availability...

Thanks - forgot about the fan belts and duckbill. Always carried them on my last boat.

Where are you boating?

High seas miles from land or a River near civilization?

Having the TowBoatUS app loaded on the phone is my #1 tool.

I would add:
Gear Lube,
Tie Wraps,
Duck Tape,
Light Bulbs for navigation lights,

Assume you have an IO? I would also add:

1 qt gear lube
2 blue wingnut drain plugs for engine and manifold drain ports.
Assorted fuses.

Along with the other things mentioned I always keep spare fuses, a 12 volt test light, some 12 volt connectors and a spare float switch. I’ve never had a bilge pump go bad on me but I have had to swap out float switches several times over the years and a couple of the times were when I was on a trip at a transient dock when a shower sump float switch went bad. Having a spare float switch really came in handy.

Agree with the above. A spare impeller and spare belts can be very helpful if you ever need them. I had a belt break and in 10 minutes I was up at full speed capability. Limping in one one engine is better than being fully disabled but still can make for a slow journey. Fuel filter also.

being an 05 I don't believe you have a distributor, but with our '98 in addition to things already mentioned I carry:

cap & rotor
90A starter fuse
battery powered LED lights for working in the bilge

Best way to figure out what you need is to buy 2 of every thing you or a mechanic replaces or repairs. A 200 piece tool kit you get at NAPA or other store for $200. Sit in engine area and look at things and think of what could break and what you can run without if it breaks. We have a raw water pump as a spare because I had one fail when we were 20 knots from a port in rough water and ran it until we got to port. We had a starter fail once but never got a spare as I figure they should last a long time. I had both rebuilt a few years ago.
