Late last summer I had a surprising incident. When I got to my mooring after boating for 30 mins or so, I opened the aft curtain to discover a completely missing port vent cover. This is a sizable piece of fiberglass, has anyone else lost one? I posted a picture below. Problem is, I cannot find a replacement. I have checked with SeaRay and through my dealer, but the part is no longer made and they do not have any inventory. I have been online with some boat salvage companies, but your timing needs to be right and so far mine hasn't. Anybody have one or know where I could get one?
Thanks, Don

If you cannot find a new one perhaps find a local glass guy and see if he can make one for you using the starboard side as a template?

It would break my heart to have this piece missing from such a good looking boat. At least throw a beach towel over it when you're parked. :)

I have been looking for a transom locker door for some time... I priced having one fabricated, and it would be 3-4K for my door... I hope you can find a replacement... I would check your other side and see if it is loose... They should not just fall off...

Probably going to have to have it fabricated if you can’t find salvage. That’s likely the reason that some piece of crap clipped yours. Those things are on there pretty good and it’s pretty unlikely that it would come off without some human assistance. It was either gone before you went for the ride and you didn’t notice it, or someone had tried to remove it and left it loose.
That vent fits several years and models.
I looked at a boat (380) with a rashed up one when I was boat shopping. While deciding about placing a bid on the boat I contacted Sea Ray to ask about availability. They aren’t available, but they gave me the info for the original supplier. I contacted that company (I think they were in the Carolinas) and they told me they didn’t retain the molds for them after Sea Ray stopped ordering them for production.

Check the most recent post by a guy who bought a 320 Sundancer and is selling parts-maybe something or not-worth checking-insurance claim?

That sucks. When I clipped mine on a dock support I had to borrow one from another member & get a mold made so my fiberglass guy could make mine. Mine is alot smaller but has a tapered design with a compound radius that would've been impossible for me to reproduce otherwise.

Ouch ..that photo hurts me. So sorry for you. I'm not sure how insurance works in the states, but up here it would cover something like that, fabrication and all. Like others have said, I'll bet someone ripped that off your boat and it just didn't fall off. I would hope anyway that Sea Ray construction would be better than that.

Also someone else mentioned looking into the 320's. Unfortunately the 320's piece is different in size and dimensions.

Good luck, and again sorry.

Could get creative and make a nice vent cap out of teak.

Maybe you will like it so much and make a matching one for the starboard side.

Not sure how old this is, but here's a 340 for salvage. They're selling the whole boat though, but maybe they already sold it. if that's the case, maybe you can find out who bought it and if they're parting it out? There's a number to call.

Another option is to have a cover made out of Sunbrella that snaps on, do the same for the other side so it matches. Not ideal, but would look better. I don't think you are going to find one of these unless you just get lucky. Like others have set, having one made is going to be expensive. If you google "custom fiberglass parts" you get a list of companies that make parts etc, mainly for cars.

Might be okay for winter storage or maybe while sitting at the dock with nothing on but he’s going to have to remove the covers before he starts anything up or increase the risk of going boom.

Thanks Mike, I have reached out to Yacht Salvage to see if they can help out. Check out the silicone around your vent covers, as I noticed that they were very dry and cracked before losing mine. Also, there are no screws or clips that I could see, it appears only to be attached with silicone or some other adhesive.

As a 2007 340 owner would like to rebed/reinfornce mine, so any specific brand or chemical recommendations to reattach them.
TIA

Not sure if you got my last message. I have not been successful in locating one, after chasing many leads over the past year. I am going to have one fabricated by my marina. Have you had any success? IF I have one made, I could have an additional one made for you if you are interested. Don
