has anyone added one? Is the cost worth it? -and they are now hard to find. Makes me wonder, and no one else seems to make one?

All I can say is GT has one, it went into the boost mode the two times we’ve stayed last summer at Liberty Landing in NJ across from NYC. It also kicked into the boost over July 4th weekend at King Charles Marina in Cape Charles.
Both marinas we’re experiencing electrical issue and we left Cape Charles after we reset their 50 amp breaker on two different powered pedestals twice. They said they had no problems but my amp probe doesn’t lie. We left two days earlier than reservations were for and we’re called by other friends whom stayed and had two 30amp cable burn up and other boats were having problems as well. The boat that had cords burn up we’re giving new cords by the Marine.
From what I’ve read about the unit is try’s to stabilize the voltage swings and provide some boost. Not the answer you were looking for but if mine failed I’d try to treplace it if I could/can.
