Had a SeaRay 185 a few boats ago, and have always been mostly a lurker here since. I’m now, let’s say, a cousin of SeaRay as I have a Meridian 391. I saw some posts from Capt Rusty Higgins here on the forum that he’s been know to give a tour or two.....

Well, long story short.....I live in Sykes Creek nearby where SeaRay has their PD&E and also builds the L-classes. They also built the Meridian 541s here.

Ask and you shall receive!

Capt Rusty gave me the most in depth tour that I’ve ever been on! He is an expert in his brand and his craft. It was just amazing to see these boats from the inside out. Super nice guy, and very very knowledgeable. And.....he LOVES talking boats! Does it get any better?!?!?

Do yourself a favor and get up to the Sykes Creek plant if you ever get the chance. You will NOT regret it.

Thank you Capt!!!

I got the same tour a couple years ago. Showed up, unexpected, he took the time to show us around. Amazing man.

I flew into Orlando on the 27th and went over to Port Canaveral got on a cruise ship, got back off on the 3rd and went back to the airport to fly back to the snow. It sure was hard driving by and looking over at that SeaRay factory not being able to stop by and see it. I thought of Rusty and told the wife I wish we had more time, I maybe could have got us a tour. Oh well maybe someday, after all I'm probably driving back down to the west side in March. It's not that far across the state....;)
