Hi everybody , we just closed on a 2006 48 Sundancer in August. What a ride, went from a 2012 Cobalt 276 to this awesome boat. Would have been a lot more difficult without good friends, Thank you TimeMachine, and many other good friends.
Anyways, any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated. This is a major change from the trailer boats i have had over the last 20 years.

That's a great boat with a great layout
There's a recent 48 Dancer specific thread, read it all
Assuming its Cummins QSM-11's, there's a thread for those as well
Enjoy the heck out of the new hole in the water

Congrats! You will love the boat! Most everything you need to know is on this forum, spend time going through here and you will be 10 steps ahead! Congrats again, and just so you know... no one believes you unless you post some pictures. We are all addicts and love pics!

congrats.

Awesome boat - big step up. You will love it.

Lot of good knowledge here...

welcome

LynchMob congrats on your purchase of your 48DA. It's an amazing boat and we love ours as our first cruiser purchased back in 2015. By any chance did your boat come out of Florida? I was in Clinton, CT over the summer at Cider Island and was docked up overnight next to a 48DA that was a tan hull like yours and I recognized it from seeing it when I was in Florida, it was docked up at a restaurant I was patronizing near Ft Lauderdale a couple of years ago. Anyhow, best of luck with your 48 and as others have mentioned you can find a lot of good info on this site.

Hey JB, yes i am docked at Cedar Island. when i purchased the boat it was in Newport. But i do believe from my research that at one time it was in Florida.
Let me know next time your in Cedar Island. We usually have lots of food and drinks.

LynchMob you sound like us. We just sold our Cobalt 272 lake boat and are looking at a move to Florida. I keep comming back to the 48DA after thinking about other boats. Any surprises? How are you using it? weekend cruises or longer? How many people are you typically overnighting with? (we have two adult children) I would also be interested in what you paid vs what was asked. Thanks!

Wow, what a boat. That is my dream boat for sure ..will also (likely ..hopefully?) be the next boat a few years down the line. Huge congrats and welcome!

Hey Bob, We love our boat. So far shes been awesome. unfortunately shes laid up now for the winter. usually we are long weekends. However we have had 8 people on board for a Nantucket week trip. That was tight. My 3 adult kids and there girl/boy friend.
Great boat for 2 adult couples.
Good luck with your search. not many 48DA around especially up north.

Very nice boat...congratulations... Not too many weeks left before we are back in it... I have been doing a lot of little things over the winter so I can really relax and travel this summer...plus it's still fun to work on it during the winter... Enjoy yourself !

Thanks Lynchmob! We are heading to Florida in a few weeks for a week long trip which includes the Miami Boat Show.
Hopefully this trip will clarify things for us or muddy the waters further. If I locate one while there we will take a tour.
Thanks again for your response!
Bob
