Boat info with Hull number

I think it is doubtful because the factory that made your boat was closed and sold some time ago, but you can contact Sea Ray Customer Service and ask if they can help. Go to the Sea Ray Owner's Club and join, then look for the term "Customer Support" at the bottom of the screen, click on it and an email form to Customer Service appears. Be sure to include your HIN# in the email request.

At that time there was an equipment list that included the manufacturer, model #, and serial # of all the vendor supplied components like the A/C units, microwave, engine, transmission/drive, etc.

Sea Ray also maintains a data base on their main system of every item installed on a boat, down to drawer pulls, hinges, windshields, resin batch numbers, gelcoat batch and color variations,…..everything. It has the vendor make, vendor part number and vendor contact information. To my knowledge, that list is not printable and not available to owners or the general public, only to dealers thru SR Customer Service.

Yes, a year or two ago I called SeaRay at the Vonore TN plant where my boat was built. I was looking for the gelcoat color - they were very nice. The lady that answered went and pulled the build sheet for my boat, told me the exact day it was built, what color gelcoat and even how much was used. I was surprised how much info she rattled off. I didn't ask for a copy and she didn't offer.

If you ask, Sea Ray will email the build sheet to you. They sent me mine.

How to get the build information is contained in Post #2 above.
Thank you. I just got a little confused by post#7 cause I don't know where my boat was build. I already have a login to SR so I will send them an email as you described. Thanks again all for the prompt responses.

I'm pretty sure your boat was built in the Knoxville plant, but look at the 4th digit in your HIN to be sure. All the records from Knoxville were boxed and sent to other places for use or storage when Knoxville was closed and sold.

By using the email portal to customer service, they will route your request to the correct customer service office and personnel. Might be Vonnore since they transferred the cruiser production there when Knoxville closed, but it might not be.

I heard somewhere that there are some "peculiarities" with the Arizona built boats. Am I imagine things or this is somehow true?

Here was my reply...

Hello Mark,

Unfortunately, we do not have that information available for that year. If I can be of any further assistance please feel free to contact me.

Thank you,

Ridiculous. I sent in a request via the Sea Ray Owners site and got a reply back from the Bayliners Owners Club saying they received my request. Wth? I have asked for a build sheet from my dealer Marine Max Buford for a year and they never respond.

The build sheets 15 years aho were hand written lists of make mnodel and serial numbers and not computerized or a part of the main system. Tthere is a master file on the main Sea Ray operating system that contains the same iformation. It isn't in a format where a list can be printed. However, if you have a particular question or need, you can usually get vendorr, vendor contact info, model numbers, etc by calling customer service at the factory that built your boat. My problem with Mark's response is that the guy who responded is in Knoxville and quit at "We don't have that information". when he should have added, "if you have a specific need or question on an installed item on your boat, we can try to find what you need".

The fact that a Marine Max store ignored a customer request and didn't have the courtesy to even tell a customer "That information isn't available" is not surprising.

If someone responded to a request your posted on the Sea Ray Owners Club, it wasn't from Bayliner. The Bayliner Owner's Club is like Club Sea Ray......it isn't affiliated with Bayliner or Brunswick, it is just a group of interested boaters. There is no linkage between SROC and BOC unless you are assuming that a response from a customer service person is signed "Brunswick Boat Group" is from Bayliner because the customer service personnel in Knoxville also handle Bayliner calls. Frank, I understand what you are saying, just thought it was weird I got back to back emails from SROC and BOC. I have never been to the Bayliner Owners Club site...
