i have a Sea ray 460 and the boat run always by the stern.
The only situation when the bow is down is when runs full speed.
I don't know how to do it to sail with the bow down and more stable..
Someone can help or have any idea why?

Thanks

Do you know if your trim tabs are working? And are you familiar with how they are supposed to operate?

If the bow is down when you are cruising on plane then you are in good shape there.
Other than that, you should probably find the right hull speed for slower cruising.
Anything in between and you'll likely just plow water, dig the stern in, and waste fuel.
I like to think that there are only 3 speed choices.
1. No wake zone which is idling along.
2. Hull speed which on my present boat is about 7 or 8 MPH where the boat maintains it's even stance while cutting almost effortlessly through the water.
3. Planing speed.

A bit of truth to the anchor chain suggestion. Move your weight forwards! You'll be surprised how much you can move and the difference it will make. I moved a bunch of stuff, which i didn't think weighed alot, but it helped a great deal!

Literally I added 50' of anchor chain to the rode (total of 75' of chain, 200' of rope) and the bow rides lower now off plane.

Try the chain for weight, my boat is gas and doesn't have the power of the diesels, but with the weight of 250 ft chain I don't get any bow rise and I don't need the tabs, boat will stay on plane down to 16 mph.

More information from the OP on the particular 460 he is running would be helpful in diagnosing his problem.

Having the Progress 1 finger issues we have all heard about. (Broken stud on finger tension spring) I am seriously considering going with all chain. Right now I have 5/16 BBB attached to old 200' of anchor line. I want to go with 1/4" HT at 150'. We really only anchor out when it's pretty calm so the non give/spring factor should be minimal. Any input would be appreciated!
